yeah an older gt500 not a 12 with its upgrades and svt pck, and yes i know heatsoak and this and that over the boss with its n/a engine.
I like the Boss just think that laptime is misleading as a 12 gt500 with recaros and svt pck should also run it and see what it comes out with.
Most people on this forum never go to a track very often i would bet and some never will.
I really want a boss as i think I actually would spend the weekends at the track and it would become a hobby that i could let off some steam with.
really they are all ford mustangs in the end and we are lucky to have these choices.. everybody needs to stop forum racing as it is getting quite old fast

That said, I do a lot of track events and bought the Boss as my weekend HPDE warrior and liked the simpler N/A motor along with the motorsport-minded focus of the whole Boss project. I think doing 12 - 14 days/year, I'll have fewer concerns with heat management and the tire and brake wear that will be incurred with the 550+ horsepower monster that is the GT500 will be much greater over the long term.
Either way, they're both fantastic machines and am very happy to have one of them in my garage shortly.
The newest iteration of the GT500 is a very formidable car by all accounts. Both cars, I imagine, have far more capabilities than even some of the most seasoned drivers will be able to extract and to compare the two on a road course is largely an Internet pissing contest. The faster driver will post the faster lap times.

I'm that guy too. Gary is exactly right, the GT500 is a tough deal on the road course, which is why my track car was a 95 R. Now it will be a Boss, for the same reason. Still, the GT500 on the street is an intimidating SOB to other drivers, and with well over 600hp and some traction mods it kills just about anything.
Two cars, two different primary purposes. A lot of fun in either case!
