Can the LS break ducts be added to the regular Boss or does it work only with the LS front splitter?

 

The brake ducts will work with the Boss and any Mustang with the CS/Boss front valance.

 

In an earlier post someone said Ford did not recommend brake ducts installed for street use on the Shelbys. Has anyone heard this? I have had brake ducts on my 2006 Steeda since new. I street drive and run it at the track and have never had any problems. I was just wondering what Ford said on the Bosses.

 

I think someone posted something like, If for steet use, you dont want brake cooling ducts. Something about cooling the breaks too much when not on the track. Ronn

 

Of course you can always install the ducts and then make a couple of plugs for the valence so that street debris and "overcooling" won't be an issue while away from the track.

 

I don't get this logic. Street pads are made to have a high level of friction when cold. So as long as you don't run track pads on the street you'll be fine. I have cooling ducts installed (all the time, even in the winter) on my M3 and never have a problem stopping with my street pads (Hawk HPS).
Do you need cooling duct for the street - No. But if you do a lot of weekend track duty, just leave them on and put street pads on for the street.

 

Exactly, the only downside I see is damaging the cooling ducts, if the car can run in rain and snow a little extra breeze will not hurt them.
