Low gas = limp mode?

I recently test drove a 2013 Boss with about 50 miles. The engine struggled to get over 4,000 rpm is 2nd gear which I know isn't right. I didn't see any trouble lights but noted that gas was low and showed 15 miles to empty. The engine wasn't missfiring or stumbling, just weak. Have any of the Boss owners on this forum experience this?

Thanks.

It was probably still in "delivery mode". I believe it can either be deactivated by the dealer during prep, or will deactivate on its own after X miles.

limp mode will throw a little wrench icon near the odometer. also it won't rev past like 2k rpms. when your car gets into limp mode you'll know it for sure.

also I usually get gas when it says 2-5 miles to empty.

I have noticed a bit of a hesitation in mine and have asked several other Boss/GT owners and they feel the same around 3-4k while easily accelerating, that might be what your talking about?

Appreciate all the comments but actually not hesitation the engine was definitely being held back and could barely accelerate over 4,000 rpms in 2nd gear. I'm thinking it was in transport mode.
