Kook's Header Install - Ho Ho Ho
Kook's Header Install - Ho Ho Ho
Well, with our LS still over at the fab shop with the roll bar, we have another LS here and our ceramic coated Kook's headers just arrived back. My son and chief mechanic finished up his college classes on Friday - so what better way to celebrate than to jump into the header install! (I think that sometimes he'd rather be back in a Calculus lecture!)
Anyway, some of you may go down this path one day so I snapped some pics of the progress thus far....
Here are the old manifolds out and comparing them to the Kook's headers.

Here's a closer shot at the driver's side old and new.

Here's a shot from up top (note that the front of the engine is still elevated.)

A shot from underneath - you can see the ~4" "steeple" inside the header.

Finally, here's the passenger side before the new header is put in.

Interested in the before/after dyno runs to see if or how they alter hp/torque.

Me too! We will dyno my car as soon as I get it back from the fab shop to get a baseline. Then, we can dyno it again with the exhaust system. If possible, we may dyno this car on the same day, same dyno as my baseline test just for kicks and giggles - and another data point.
