How satisfied are you with your Boss...?
Love mine. A solid 8.5. Yes there are things that I would've liked Ford to include (SYNC isn't one of them, lol) like optional wheels, rear brace for non-LS, 1 pc driveshaft are examples.
However, I had to deduct 1.5 for the transmission. What a pile of junk. With 30k hard (I drive it daily and am a constant idiot along with over 100 1/4 passes of 5k+ launches) the transmission is done. It's whined and complained from day 1 and has progressively gotten worse to a point of non-driveablity.
Why Ford couldn't just put the GT500 tranny in I'll never understand...

I have a 2012 YB. Bought it used with 1,500 miles. Mint condition, never in the rain, etc. It's now got just under 12,000. Over half those miles are condensed into a couple long trips, with little in-and-out of the seats (see below). I would love to give it a 9 or 10. I am not taking points off for lack of conveniences, etc. You know what the Boss is before you buy - a strippo in terms of luxury and convenience items. I have the notchy shifter issue - fairly slight, and hoping it doesn't get worse. Haven't disabled SkipShift yet - it's screwy that was ever on this car. Hate it. These result in minus .5 - I can deal with them.
My one complaint is the cloth Recaros. They are susceptible to fraying, and it's happening on mine. I wear the same clothes in this car that I do in my others - one is a 4Runner with cloth, and one is a Mustang with leather. No issues in those seats. No scratching, fraying, nothing. Took it to 2 dealers, asked Deysha for help, called Ford Customer Service, etc. etc. They took a picture, sent it to corporate, and they (both times) promptly denied to help, saying I had damaged the seat with "what looks to be a scrub brush." Seats have never even been cleaned (interior still smells like new, even!). I am even more disappointed with Ford's handling of the situation. One party tells me to talk to my dealer, dealer tells me to talk to corporate, i.e. 'run-around.' Both apparently think I'm lying.
All I can say is be careful (more than you should have to be) with these seats. Ford would have had a 9.5 with me if it weren't for the inferior seating surfaces (seats themselves are outstanding) and their lack of fixing a quality issue.

I agree about the seats, the cloth is DELICATE! I get in and out of my car very carefully each time so I don't rub the bolster...................................
I recondition and re-sell early 2000 Focuses. You know, even with 200k on the clock the cloth seats are un-worn looking and mint. WTF FORD? Super durable cloth on a base Focus, but you can't make durable cloth on a set of Recaro's for the "Race Tough Boss"? We spent a ton of money for these stripped down cars, at least the materials should be up to the standard of the money we spent.
9.5
RCWALP. Still you have to upgrade the Brakes, Wheels and Tires and Safety equipment before tracking the car.
Still love it.
I am old school. Has to excite me like Bo Derek (The Original "10") to score a 10.0.
Its close!!

10+. Although I agree with complaints about the transmission and high rpm shifting issues, I just don't think you can evaluate a car like this the way that Consumer Reports would ("placement of cupholders is awkward and the mpgs go down if you use it vigorously" - duh! It's a RCWALP!).
This is a true heart-over-head car. The sounds it makes, the feedback it gives, and the smiles it puts on my face (and my passengers') are unlike any other car I have ever driven (to include numerous 911s thru 2009, Vette, S2000, STIs, Viper ACR, Elise, etc). For those of us who love American V8 muscle cars AND European-style good handling cars, it really is the perfect marriage of the two. No car is perfect - look at the embarrassing and catastrophic issues Porsche has had with the 996/997 engines.
Even the Boss' flaws make me want to fix it and make it better. I am on my 2nd Boss right now (traded my 2012 Kona Blue for a 2013 black Laguna) and I cannot imagine any car replacing it, even the new GT350 - I will just have to figure out a way to afford both!

I understand that complaint completely - my 2013 doesn't lock me out nearly as much as my 2012 did, but it is very frustrating and is on my list to fix. I have already done the MGW, Whiteline trans bushing, and Blowfish Racing bracket - all of which have made shifting precision much better but have not eliminated the high rev lockouts.
The reality is that the high rpm lockout problem isn't the MT-82's fault - it's the OE clutch that doesn't fully disengage at big revs. Even a simple Stage 1 clutch from Spec, Exedy, RAM, etc will apparently cure the problem 100%.
Towards the end of this thread, the diagnosis and fix become clear.

I've had my 2012 Boss for well over a year now, and I still fantasize about it when I'm not driving it... and I've put 22k+ miles on her. They are instant classics, performance benchmarks and just downright f$%king gorgeous/kickass.
So, yeah, very satisfied with my Boss.
