I am installing the same springs on mine. Nothing indicating if the rear springs go in with the tight coils at the top or bottom. Photos of the springs show the tight ones on the bottom but the instructions, although not very clear, appear to have the tight coils on the top. If they go in like in the instructions then the writing on the springs is upside down. Since both seating surfaces are the same it probably doesn't even matter. How are yours installed?

The only text on the springs is HOTCHKIS, some numbers and "DD". Nothing else that indicates top or bottom.

I'm looking at getting these springs for my 13 GT that is a DD. Is a PHB necessary for this drop? I'm also guessing an alignment will be necessary once the springs have settled.

once you drop the Mustang, your OEM PHB and rear LCAs will be "off"
you need LCAs reloc kit and a adjustable PHB or Watts Link

I went Watts Link:

Thanks bud! That Watts link looks awesome, but I think I'll go with an adjustable PHB. As for the relocation kit, your picture makes perfect sense. As for the front end, will an alignment be necessary after the drop?

If your LCA's are horizontal or pointing down toward axle, new ones are not needed. If they now point up, you do.

I had Vorshlag cc plates installed at the same time (over a year ago)
I believe I did align the car after install just to be safe....never hurts

If you do the springs, I highly recommend the reloc brackets to keep the LCAs flat

I have the Hotchkis springs. I also purchased the Hotchkis LCA'a with Whiteline Relocation Brackets. I didn't need a panhard or a Watts link as everything lined up after install.

Car rides better than stock in every way!

I installed the Hotchkis Stage 1TVS and rear end kit as is listed on the Hotchkis site...for the Boss. Also did LCA relocation brackets, CC plates and Koni yellows. My Boss benefitted from the adjustable panhard rod that comes with the rear end kit. I'm within 1/8" or less measuring sided to side.

I've been extremely pleased with the end results.....except.....the suspension overwhelms the P Zero's and the stock brake pads. The car has impressed a couple of pro's from our local track....one of which sets up Formula Ford's and sportscars....he said he couldn't believe how precise and well balanced such a heavy car could be.

I sure hope Hotchkis continues to develop products for Mustangs well into the future. Their products are top notch IMHO.

Wayne

P.S.

I've got a set of racing wheels getting a set of Continental GT-O racing slicks mounted presently and will also be installing a set of racing brake pads before my next track date in September. Hopefully the vehicle will continue to shine.....despite having a driver of limited abilities !

I installed these springs and rear LCAs yesterday. I couldn't be more pleased with the look and performance of these springs combined with the LCA. I feel bad for my tires, because I am going to be much harder on them now! Haha
