Hooking up an IPOD to USB port.
Hooking up an IPOD to USB port.
Hello folks, I purchased a 2013 Boss a few months back and I have been trying to link an IPOD to the USB port, I have tried several differant brand IPODS and none seem to connect. Will this port work with an IPOD?
I would think it would work after selecting the USB input on the radio. You say you've tried several brands of iPods, but there is only one brand - Apple, but several models over the years.
Or are you connecting a different USB music device?

Won’t Work
I have a 13’ Boss LS. You can connect your iPhone to the USB and use sync, but iPods do not work because they have a different interface. If you want something semi permanent you can put the MP3s on a flash drive and connect that in the console.

I have a thumb (flash) drive attached to the USB port on the back of the sync unit behind the jocky box. Search this site for a thread on what is needed to hook up to USB2 and leave you console port for phones. Works well. I have an 8GB drive loaded with MP3's. Works great.

I actually found a USB to MicroUSB cable that did the trick without any gender changers... Look around.
