The one on the right is a Sylvania H13 ST BP TWIN SilverStar Headlight - Pack of 2, from amazon. The left is stock. Now they make 2 other "Brighter" bulbs Maybe just one, not sure) and these were their original bright bulbs. I have not tried the others since I find these good enought for me.

$40 is about the normal price. I picked them up from Amazon for 29 shipped, no tax. Amazon is better in many ways then eBay for new stuff like this, easier to find the best price.
I thought about the others but I am use to these, getting old and set in my ways - just like you

I wouldn't do that on this car. If you go with the OEM stuff, at some point down the road, you could always swap back to the halogen setup. Going with a retrofit might be a cheaper alternative in the short term, but would cost as much or more in the long term if you chose to go back to stock.
Also another problem is modifying the factory wiring harness; I believe the HIDs require a 4-pin harness where the halogen requires a 3-pin. Unless it's different for the Boss?
I've been using Silverstar Ultras on other cars for a few years until I 'upgraded' to HIDs... Color temperature, they're more pleasing than stock; output- they work best for a few months, then they start to dim... Just my $0.02

The OEM Halogens are definitely cheaper than replacement OEM HIDs...

Silverstars look good, but I had terrible luck with them on previous cars. I'd be lucky to get 12 months out of a bulb. I wasn't the only one who had this problem, and it was across a multitude of cars.

Guess I have good luck with them, been using for years without anything like this and that was on dirty dusty pothole filled roads. Hope my luck keeps up as I doubt I would ever add the HID's to the Boss.

Hey guys and gals. I just tried to swap out OEM headlight bulbs for the H13 SilverStar replacements. They don't fit. The snap connector for the pigtail is on the "end" of the Boss connector and the connector on the SilverStars is on the side. Anyone have an idea of what's up?![Thumbsdown](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsdown.gif)

Did a few searches on OEM Ford parts, looks like the stock HID's are hard to find cheap, this is what I came up with as an average from several different suppliers.
Lamp assembly x 2 $769 = $1538
Ballast x2 $229 = $458
Bulbs x2 $178 = $356
Total = $2352

As an option there were these, but you would still need bulbs, ballast, etc.

Time to start looking in the wrecking yards :-)
