Just for reference here is a pic of a member's Boss 302 that has the all black and no chrome standard halogen headlamp housings. I believe I have it figured out that it is a late 2012 production specification. No one has ever seen all black housings with no chrome until now. One of our members ordered standard halogen headlamp housings on eBay and was surprised to get black when he ordered was he thought was standard across the board chrome.

Boss #LS727, built Nov. 4th. Chrome.

Boss #LS729, built Nov. 8th. Chrome.

Boss #LS ???, built Aug. 9th. Is this black or chrome? Too many reflections and bad lighting.

Boss #2690, built Nov. 16th. Here it looks black, but the second pic shows it's actually chrome.

Boss #???? built Sept.15th. Chrome.

Boss #2711 Built Nov. 18th. Chrome.

If you look a pictures of California Specials without HID .. it seems like they have black around the turn signals a well ... Maybe a shortage forced some C/S head lights to be used for a while??

So the reflective bits around the amber lenses are black chrome, hmm.
