I believe that when a dealer is informed that he's getting an allocation for a Boss he is also told when that car is going to be produced. In this way Ford is spreading out Boss production throughout the year and not have them all built within the first few months.

So even if an order is placed when the order banks open the car still won't be produced until the allotted build date.

Yup.

My dealer knows he's getting a spring 2011 and a fall 2011.

I guess this way Ford doesn't have everyone waiting in the spring of 2011 for cars that can't get produced all at once.

I asked how long he had been there and he said just over a year, so I am assuming he has no real clue. So no, not really.

But thanks for your post to call me out. It was very useful.
i dont think he was calling you out bro...just starting back with post #1 hahaha

Thanks for the information! This is a bit different I believe from what I recall of past Mustang feature cars.

Yes the Ford Rep stated that the first car(mine) is the single allocation for store A and will be built 3rd quarted 2011 and the 2nd car(owners) is the single allocation for his other store B and will be produced 4th quearter 2011. He did tell me this was to spread production throughout the year.

If my Dealer has a 4th Q allotment, I may ask for a 2013-->>

My Dealer just sent me an email from Ford Sales Zone Manager, I'll show the important part>>>

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You've earned a Boss for 1st quarter! It will NOT be a Laguna Seca package.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I wanted the BOSS not the LS,,,,

Yes, we have a written contract, dated 8/16/10 for MSRP + 1st choice. I have drove them nuts reminding them of the MSRP agreement and they (salesman to the owner) reassure me every-time, that it's mine at the agreed upon MSRP.

Today I was talking to the owner of the dealership I'm dealing with. I was asking him he had any more info on the Boss? He told me the car will be a Job 1 build. He said they might be getting a second and that they can also get an LS, although he's not sure he wants to get the LS.

I asked him if he knew anything about possible options and he said no, but he did say there is some regional product meeting he's going to next week and that he'll be able to get more Boss info then. He said he would check and see if any options would be available on the Boss. He agreed with me that it's foolish of Ford to not offer Sirius radio in the car.

So hopefully by the end of next week I'll have a little more information to pass along to forum members.

Re: the recaros...I'm thinking it's one of those options that you'll wish you had gotten. I'm sure they will be confortable and they will add a certain look to the inside that other mustangs just won't have.

Re: colors....I think the orange will be a real eye catcher. Blue with the white trim will really look distinictive. I wonder if they will offer a black trim with the blue?

I saw the YB on a fiesta at my dealers and it's a pretty nice color and I think the black trim would break up the color perfectly. It too will be a real eye catcher.

Not a real fan of race red. But I'll need to see some real pictures.

White...It will look very good with the black trim.

I'm still holding out hope on the security package being offered- still scratching my head how they wouldn't put one in this car? Perhaps it's standard and thus isn't an option? And I'm hoping for Sirius.

The owner I spoke with thought the LS was going to be like a Cobra R, an actual race car. I don't think he's willing to get stuck with a car that he thinks will be hard to move. He's located in a town with a Ford plant that is scheduled to be shutdown within the year and the town is going to be devastated economically when it closes, so I guess he doesn't see it selling quickly. Obviously no one has enquired about getting one.

There may be more options, have you read this from sticky?

We may have another option for the BOSS 302:

The Laguna Seca additionally receives front brake-cooling ducts-they're available as an accessory for the standard Boss 302.

Yeah I saw that, actually I bought that magazine, it seems like that's something you can buy from the parts counter more than a true option.

LQQK,

I saw your post on another forum....often times black seats and interior look gray in photos. So I'm sure that's why those Recaro's look gray in that picture.
