Not sure on this but I think if you are in first below 3K you see the light, if at any time you go above 3K, then drop back below and shift you will not encounter the skip. This may have hapened to you.

I don't think it activates until the engine is fully warmed up.

Sometimes I'll just skip second on go to third if I'm in stop n' go traffic. That way I still got some torque if I need it.

Have any of you tried starting in second if you are just loafing along in traffic?

How are you shifting? It's going to happen with lower RPM and a more casual driving style

I even tried shifting at 1500rpm.....it doesn't skip. I used to have a C6Z06, so I know what a skip shift is.

I was out today driving hard, on the way home it would not do it as I tried leaving first below the 3K, so maybe it "remembers" driving habits for track use. Did you try low RPM shifting after a new/cold start?

Guys, I didn't fiddle with anything that could affect skip shift, I just don't have it. Yesterday, I experimented shifting below 2k while the car was hot......NO skip shift. Maybe my car is unique and I should put it on eBay!

I use to think the same thing, then it just started happening. There's definitely a small window when it will work. You need to be light on the gas and shift as soon as you see the message on the display.

I don't have a boss but I have the 5.0 and I can tell you that I had the skip shift for about 6 months. The last two months though, it will not engage.

I'm not complaining though.

I have not experienced it either on my wife's '11 5.0 either. Just so we are clear on what this feature is/does. if you shift out of first at low RPM, instead of it allowing you to slide down into 2nd, it forces you straight down into 4th, right? Or is it auto-magically putting you in 4th gear while in the 2nd gear shift slot? Maybe it's a dumb question to consider the latter, as I wouldn't think it possible...

It is very stupid indeed. I never had it happen the first two months but today it forced me into fourth at low RPM's on a side street. Second time in a week. I was in today for the hanging side pipe and asked the SM if I disconnect it, will that have any effect on warranty, he said probably not but connect it back up if I need service in that area.
