Fluid leak-2013 Boss 302

Noticed a few drops where I park at work and my garage. Looks like oil, definitely near the front/engine. Put it on ramps, checked oil filter, drain plug...nothing.

I am really having an issue finding the leak. Everything looks dry.

Thoughts? Known leakage areas?

This is a used CPO Boss with 31K.

Look at the oil cooler. There have been some leaks there.

Oil cooler lines, run a rag all the way up and down both inlet/outlet.

Thanks ace and dsp.

I posted the same at the SVT site and that also seems to be the consensus.

First time I changed oil, when I removed the filter the gasket stuck to the engine housing. I didn't realize it and had some drips because there were two gaskets. Since then, when I remove the filter the gasket has stuck to the engine housing more than once, but now I catch it. Just a thought...

Thanks. Yes I checked that. It was leaking before and after the oil change.

Well, the leak continued so I took into the Ford dealer who have had the car about 2 days. After I demanded a different tech work on my car (see below), and they have finally diagnosed that it is transmission fluid, which is blowing out the vent tube. Hmmm...not sure why it would do that?

Anyway, this was after the first tech stated and stated "Oh, it's excess oil from a recent oil change and your getting residual drips from the frame. It could do that for up to a month". Arghh!

I explained I changed the oil and was fastidious in cleaning up the residual oil. While it was on the lift, which I didn't see when I had on ramps in my garage, was fluid on the trans area. Once I pointed that out, and me and the tech smelled it, it was definitely trans fluid.

Sooo, the 2nd tech is waiting on some parts but needs authorization or something from Ford.

I'll keep you posted.

Got car back. According to Ford, it was the transmission vent tube. Replaced with new tube assembly. Will see if I have any leaks over the next week or so.

They also drained and replaced all the trans fluid. I wonder if the transmission was removed to replace this part?

Glad to hear you got it sorted out, is there a TSB on this?

According to Ford, no TSB. And so far, leak free
