Faux Gas Cap

I recently plastidipped my faux gas cap on the trunk to get rid of some of the chrome and it looks much better IMO. However when removing the plastidip I tried to just get off the red, white, and blue sections and keep the rest plastidipped to make the color pop a little better, and to keep the horse black instead of chrome. In doing this I scratched the red of the tri bar a little, not noticeable till you get up on it, but it bothers me that I know it's there. I wanted to know where you are able to just get the center of the faux gas cap so that if I would like to I can replace it. I have looked on several ford parts sites and none have just the plastic center. Also how easy is it to pull off the center cap, I might try to spray it again and tape off the interior of the tri bar.

Yep. Let it sit in the sun so it warms up and follow this photo. That's a plastic putty knife and a screwdriver. Take your time and work a little at a time to make sure you don't bend the deck lid.

I also realized too late that this should probably be in the exterior mods section.

Even with the plastic trim tool kits like from HF, it should make for an easy pull. And if course the fishing line trick for the tape. Put plenty of blue tape around to deter scratches.

Thats what I am wondering, I am interested in just the horse emblem and then hitting that with plastidip because it looked awesome when it was covered. Just be nice to have a bigger version.

Yes you can but you still need to remove it and disassemble. It's a total of three pieces and a PITA to take apart.

Which places currently sell just the center cap? I think I want to go to just the pony and spray that matte also.

You can buy an aftermarket center cap by itself but I believe the Ford part includes all three pieces. It's not designed to be taken apart but of course you can.

I found a company who makes the Mustang black badges (I think in plastic)
....trying to get prices.

Working with local Ford dealer for logos for those badges:
Ford Racing
Boss 302

Post your ideas for logos to be put on that black badge.
...post the logo too

Lets see if we can get something better back there....

Before I bring up a new topic.. has anyone been able to find anything other than the stock pony emblem for the Boss 302? Not trying to hate on the stock stuff..but to me the boss 302 should have its own cap or logo.
