Enjoying my Boss
Hello ... I have been off line from the mustang source forums.
I have passed one year with my Comp Orange 302, almost a daily driver depending on weather and need. Gas does not bother me otherwise i would drive a Leaf or something.
I do get a number of looks but i do not race anyone on the streets nor have i visited a track even though i have been invited to.
I am torn by the lack of technology "bling" in the car - like premium sound system, nav but there is something to say about a lack of technology in the car, keeping it in the motor and transmission. I do love the 2013 GT 500, i sat in one and felt very nice but the shift was extremely stiff; the moment i picked up my boss and drove it, it was smooth.
for a modification i am considering the Alpine perfect fit system and got quoted with a full sound system upgrade for about 5K - i love music and i want my music to blast.
I wished i could have got a grabber blue with the C stripe; my favorite combo.
and yes, my boss has a child seat in the back because my boy is always welcome in my car.
This could also be my last manual transmission car that i purchase; getting a feeling that autos are just getting that much better but I will always own a stick shift ... just cause.
in the san jose area i think i am the only 2012 around although i saw a LS in the rain driving around but there are at least four 2013s driving around.
anyway ... just wanted to share

The Boss 302 is not cheap and you give up a lot creature comforts in exchange for on track performance. I don't understand why you'd buy one if you're never going to track it.
Man up, take it to a track day. You won't crash and you'll even learn a bit about how to drive it.

I had to upgrade the stock stereo in mine because I hated not having my iPod controls. I love music as well and I have though about doing more upgrades to the stereo, but think I will opt for a new MGW shifter and full exhaust before I do that.
I have been able to take mine to the track a few times and it has been a blast! I do opt to store her in the winter becasue of the salt on the roads and I know I am going to miss getting up to speed on the autobahn.
Thanks for sharing and Comp Orange is the best color!

Currently a Corvette Owner!

Same here! My 11 GT has my kid's booster seat in back, and he rides with me everywhere! He knows if he behaves, this car might be his some day! Also, I have a auto trans (wife insisted). I don't mind at all. And I even track my car a few times per year. The six-speed-auto can handle anything I throw at it, and I even get descent mileage. Enjoy that gorgeous Boss!

I think I've seen you on 880! Where did you get the quote for the Alpine system? PM me, I'm in the Bay Area and used to work at Sound Innovations...I can help you put together a system.

Boss meets high tech interior
When my budget allows, I'm going to install this along with GT door panels to give me the 8" subs in each door. A new iPad with 4G will give me all the tech I could want, including NAV. A good signal processor behind the stock head unit to retain the steering wheel controls & Sync to feed a nice JL Audio or Alpine 5ch amp should work great.

3spro looks nice, but is way too complicated for a caveman like me. When my bro' and I are out for a drive in the Boss, we prefer the following comments:
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
...
...
Is there life on Mars?
It's all Hunky Dory 'round these parts.

I like to picture my Boss wearing a Tuxedo T-shirt because it says "I want to be formal, but I am here to party too." I like to party, so I like my Boss to party.

Ace72ace ... that is an awesome mod. Not sure if i would ever take it that far but yea ... i can see that.
laserred38 ... the quote I got was a place that worked on my truck on Stevens Creek ... the name is escaping me ... but they did a fantastic job with my diesel truck; its loud!
And for mr. trackday .... when i am ready I will take it out, until then I will enjoy my car as I see fit.
back to work.

Great pic of your boy next to the boss I almost bought a boss but decided on a GT instead, my son really really wanted me to get "the boss"... He and I drive in my car all the time as well, had to find the right booster seat to fit in the back though...
I'm a few hundred miles north of you and drive down to the bay area often for work (I'm originally from Santa Rosa, corporate is in Petaluma). My wife's best friend teaches at Stanford so I'm in the South Bay from time to time. If you see a GHIG 13 GT with Oregon plates it's me down for a visit. I'll be in the north bay at the end of this month but I doubt I'll drive my car down (depends on the weather)... but the drive down I-5 is fun
