Here's the graph from mine. It gets jittery as hell because they didn't have the connectors on very well. But who am I to complain when it was a free run.

Was the hood open or closed? Same way for both runs? Thanks.

Guss, you guys provided the CAI for this anyway, the tune was off the dyno we were on here was not updated and the tune on the car was based off a GT tune which i didn't know at the time had the fuel cut off set at 7200 rpm. the tuner was also unable to control fuel after 6700 or so where it went rich, still nice gains for headers, catted X, and a steeda CAI.

EDIT: i just realized i haven't uploaded the dyno pull with all the mods on, the second vid is without the headers and x and with the sct tune for a Gt rather than the boss.

stock dyno pull, they didn't go to redline and this is on a mustang dyno.

dyno pull with mods

i have the new tune that i mentioned in the other threads so once i get it on the dyno ill update. its so **** hot here now im not sure what to expect, texas is on like day eleventy million of 105 plus temps

Thanks Gus. I wonder if there is a sort of unfair advantage to an open element CAI run with the hood up? Would the gain be as big with the hood shut like the car is when driving?

thanks for the info.

I think it has more to do with cooling than anything else.

It has always been our position that with the hood open is the closest you are going to get to actually achieving the air charge temperatures you would normally see if you were going at least 40 miles per hour or faster with the hood closed and receiving the cold air feed from the scoop at the bottom of the intake.

Having the hood closed only simulates one thing, sitting in traffic and not moving.

When you are moving and under wide open throttle, I guarantee you'll be going faster than 40 miles per hour This is why we do all our testing with the hood open.

Thanks for the feedback Gus. I see what you are saying. I'm not sure I totally believe that is true. I do like your design. The bellmouth feeding the tube seems like a good idea. Thanks.

Here is mine...68*, 18% humidity

Weather cooled off a bit here in AZ this week, took her in to get a baseline dyno.

2550 miles on the car now.
Mods: K&N filter, Roush Mufflers, Open sidepipes.

Run 2 (Red Line)is the K&N.
Run 4 (Blue Line) is the Stock Paper Filter.

Not much difference, K&N might have a slight advantage from 5000rpm to 6800 or so.

Yeah, tough call. In our experience you'll see that much variance in back to back runs with no changes in between. Add an aftermarket CAI and I'd bet you'd have the same curve again!
