I thought it strange that the Boss did not have an OP gauge standard. It's odd that not one review or test drive, I read, mentioned that it this was an issue or bothered them. No one made the point it should have had one.....

I have been considering the aeroforce in an vent gauge pod as well, but since the only round vents are on the left if the steering wheel and right of the glove box, the gauge would be difficult to monitor while driving. Still, it's about a grand cheaper, though, I haven't ruled it out.

And conversely other than mentioning the LS had the gauge pod nobody said anything else about it. I like the gauge pod but it's expensive and more eye candy than anything. If I do buy it, not likely, I'll go all the way and get the Ford gauges.

I did make it home safely, my 20yr old son drove the other car ahead of me about 5 mi ahead keeping me posted on speed traps. Let's just say this car moves quickly. I'm looking through the manual. The GT has 4 gauges, the boss has 2. The boss does not have oil pressure H-L or battery H-L. Still scratching my head on that one.

So does the 155 mph speed limiter work and does it rev to 7,800 rpm's?

Wow, really? I can see why you're scratching your head. I figured it would have at least the dummy switch for oil pressure H-L. I guess I'll be ordering the oil pressure sensor for my Aeroforce gauge.

Does anybody know whether the oil pressure info is available through the obda or if, in fact, an aftermarket pressure sensor is required? I was under the impression that the standard boss would have the info available through the obda so that either the ford racing gauges or other aftermarket gauges would be plug and play.

The regular 6-gauge oil pressure 'gauge' isn't real. It only has two states, the sender is actually a switch. The LS Boss uses a different sender so that the gauge pack will work properly.
For the V6/GT 'gauge' - see page 413-01-36 of this section of the shop manual. You will see that the gauge is really just an idiot light with moving parts, and the signal comes from a switch and not a sender.
