Did I Screw Myself?

So... I know there's been much discussion on this, but I had track key installed last month and I like it a lot, but I did it with plans to also add kooks headers and other similar mod to get right around 500 hp hopefully.

Now I'm reading that doing other mods may cause the car to lean out and not run properly without custom tune. What if I decided to run custom tune on grey key down the road? I can't seem to find any conclusive info on this.

I guess if I'm stuck with track key and nothing else, that's ok the car is great, but just didn't think the track key would make it hard to do future mods.

Anyone have any experience with this?

You can add headers/exhaust to a TK-enabled car, no problem. This is somewhat contrary to conventional wisdom and perhaps not the greatest news for the tuners, but the Mustangs now have left and right bank Wideband sensors and the ECU corrects af's in real time. We've seen this repeatedly on the dyno where our header-equipped TK cars are running a point or so RICHER than OEM.

i have the red-key installed in my car..... and got the current tune with an SCT, basicaly it removes the red-key functions when you load the new tune in. However when you switch it back using your handheld they all return again. Supposedly DIABLO tuner will now tune under the black key and all functions will remain..... i have not tested this yet though

Are you sure?? According to everything published to date - this will not work. That is, once you have overwritten the ECU with an SCT you will not be able to get the TK function back. Please confirm - as this would be really good news!!
