Damm bro. Sorry to hear. We just went through that a few months ago. Were used to it though. Didn't think you guys would ever get hit like that. At least it drained faster than here.

Very sad

I mean the good news is you are ok, but that's a heart wrenching loss in cars

Why would he want too? Have you ever seen the damage done by salt water? Two days sitting in the sun, you won't be able to get near it because of the smell. Every electrical connection will start to corrode and every space in the car will be filled with a highly corrosive mix of sand, silt and salt that cannot be removed easily or completely without completely disassembling the car. That is why they don't salvage flood damaged vehicles.

Not sure about the buy back. Is it worth it, this is salt water. Btw, the cars were and still are in the garage.

Salt water flood = Don't touch those cars again.

Would it be worth buying the car back from the insurance co. and using or selling off the parts? If so, which parts would be safe?

Dunno everything is fixable imo. if the ride means that much to him and he is mechanically inclined it can be brought back.

No. This is totally wrong and terrible advice.

That car is going to be rotting at every joint, every connection and every wire. Stay far FAR away.

It wasn't advice is was a ststement. When you strip a car down to its bare bones you address all those issues. Especially if you know it has had a salt water bath.

Re-assemble car ..... Commence moddddding the crap since your not worried about a warranty anymore and kicking 1}}#<~<

I am so sorry for your losses. Here in CT I have never felt anything like what came through. It sounded like a train and I realized i wasn't sure if the house would loose its roof. It sounded and felt like 80+ mph where I am and we werent even hit as hard as NY NJ in Litchfield and Hartford Counties.

After making it through with some tree damage, on top of last years tree damage , the noreaster hit hard and I ended up having to abandon my 07 on the side of a road in the latest storm Wednesday. Cars were stuck in the same spot and I was sure to come back to damage but got lucky this time.

Now I am seeing the images daily of the storm and the effects here in Fairfield county. Friends that live on the shore have neighbors without homes.

I heard there are over 250,000+ cars destroyed. Many classics and new. Take care and thought and prayers to all affected.
