Got mine torn apart and have the front plate on, but the 2013 bumper foam is different. I have an email out to cooltech to verify how to proceed.

Progress. The 2013 front end is different from the 2012. The depth from the front of the bumper skin to the actual bumper is deeper and the push in foam retainers are behind the boss plate after installation. I was able to get everything mounted up and fit but I had to back out the tow ring eye 3/8" to get the shaft to seat against the boss. I don't think it's safe to tow as is since there's not much thread left in the toe ring. I've been in touch with Kendall at cooltech and I'm sure he'll come up with something. A 1/2" longer shaft is the easiest solution.

After going through all this it seems the 2013 might be prepped for a tow ring since the foam has a significant recess ( see previous post) with a nice hole through the foam dead center. Future factory kit??

Pics to follow.

John, did you have any issues installing the tow hook on your rear bumper?

I haven't attempted that yet. I'm doing the front hook and putting my splitter on (which I couldn't find any 2013 instructions for, but I've just about got it figured out ). I'm doing a two day hpde end of the month.

I'll get to the back next month.

John, thanks for the pioneering work and sorry forthe trouble. We had ordered (or thought we had) the foam for a 2013 and when it came in, it was the same as the '12 - presumbly showing the hooks would be the same. After John contacted us, we discovered that we had, in fact, ordered the 2012 foam duh!

We will have 2013-specific plates next week for the front with a boss that is 1" longer. We'll get one out to John asap and to anyone else that has a 2013. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

I was hoping for a longer shaft on the ring. I just got her all put back together.
Oh well, appreciate the help and quick response

Is there a way to order a 2013-specific tow hook kit on your website?

Thanks for KeavDog's efforts.... somebody had to be first!

I'll get the website fixed up this week. We will have the 2013-specific plates ready to go here in about a week. (We are at SEMA all week next week so most likely shipping is the week after.)

And yes, John has been great to work with and will get him fixed up and then figure out how to make it up to him.

I installed the rear tow ring last night without issue. Everything went according to the instructions and the tow ring sits perfectly off the rear bumper.

Hope to get the front resolved soon, but for now I have a tow ring!

Any word on the '13 specific kits?

I want to get a set for my '13 Mustang GT, but didn't see an option to specify you had a '13 on the site.

Hi all,

I'll see if I can get the site updated within the next 24 hours. We have both the 2012 and 2013 kits in stock. The only difference is that the 2013 front mount has a little bit of a longer boss on it. The rears are the same and have been installed on both 2012 and 2013 cars to validate. OK..... I'm headed over to the website with my nearly empty bag of html programming skills!

Thanks!

Saw the site was updated, I'll be getting a set before my next track day.

FORTRAN LOL...I must have been one of the last to be taught it in college.

Kendall...lots of S197 people asking about your hook at the tracks. I've seen a couple of your roll bars in person...one Cooltech installed and one customer installed and both looked great!
