Clunk Sound from Under Boss--Help
Clunk Sound from Under Boss--Help
I replaced the stock restrictor plate with 3/4" opening plates but ever since I've had a clunk sound from under the passenger seat when going over bumps. I read where this is common if you don't get the side exhaust angled "just right". I've tried placing the pipe "in the center", pointed up and pointed down and I still get the noise. Last night I took off the passenger side exhaust just to make sure its what was making the clunk and it went away completely so I'm thinking it must be it. Any suggestions?? I also jacked up the car to see if I could see an area that was rubbing under the exhaust but I didn't see any blemishes in the paint so I'm clueless what to try next.
Thanks for any help! Mitch

Where the side pipes connect to the H the bolt holes are elongated to allow for adjustment. Your pipe is hitting the frame rail on that side. Loosen the clamp bolt before the connection, then loosen the 2 bolts on the flange. Rotate the pipe until you have about 1" of clearance between the frame rail and pipe. Hold the pipe in place while you tighten everything back up.
