Check for this defect!
Today I decided to change all my shocks to setting 5, in anticipation of my track day next week. The left rear shock valve was defective. The red portion was not swaged into the top of the shock all the way and was loose.
I've seen this reported before.
Went to the dealer, they said it's a warehouse item and they'll install the replacement next Tuesday....just in time!
BTW, list for the shock is $550.

Wow, that should not have happened. I can understand a loose piece of trim here and there on thousands of car and trucks passing down the lines, I don't condemn all union workers for that. Nothing is perfect and certainly not massed produced things but that part should have been inspected before it left the vendor, especially if it is so clear to the naked eye.
Just picked my Boss up again from dealer where it sat for 3 days while they searched for a rattle I could hear behind passenger dash. They had to tighten the shock mounts and the fender mounts all of which were loose. Car had the rattle the first day. Scary.
I noticed when I adjusted mine earlier today, the red adjustment screw portion only seemed to rise up a bit on all the shocks. This was the first time I adjusted them, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Would seem normal for the adjustment screw to have some play though. The rest of the red top was solid.

These are, apparently, the shocks we have:

I looked at the literature to see if it was ok to rotate the adjustment valve through more than 360 degrees. There is no mention of rotation limits in their literature or Fords.

I just took a look at the Tokico website from the link above, and it says, "Illumina uses TOKICO’s sophisticated multi-stage, variable-aperture piston and valve system, combined with a five-position bypass shutter-valve. A crisp shutter-valve detent allows quick, sure selection of the five settings."
A detent is a click or notch. An adjuster that spins freely does not sound right. I will check mine when I get home tonight.

All 4 of my shocks adjuster's turn freely more than 360 degrees. Are you sure your rear ones stopped? Anyone else have theirs turn freely or stop? I placed a call and left a voicemail for technical support at the shock company to see what they say.

Here's a pic of the faulty adjuster. You can clearly see that the red adjustment assembly has separated from the top of the shock. I don't know if it affects the adjustment, I'm getting the shock replaced next week.
I also don't know if the adjusters are supposed to rotate more than 360 degrees......I didn't test for that.
