Cat-back HP gains
I have been looking at getting the X-pipe and outlaw series mufflers for my Boss. I know this will do away with the stock H-pipe and mufflers which are fairly restrictive and was wondering if anyone else has swapped out the stock H-Pipe and mufflers and seen any gains.

you will gain 15-20rwhp with an offroad x pipe...no real gains to be had with the axle back. Do a good dyno tune, o/r x pipe, and JLT intake and you will have 30-35 rwhp and over 40lb/ft tq with huge gains under 3500 rpm

Can similar gains be made with hf cats instead of an o/r set up. I would need to pass emissions and was looking at selling my stock h-pipe if possible so I couldn't just swap back for emissions.

depends on the sniff test........ these cars run alot cleaner...... i have passed sniffer tests in PA without a cat...... they dont go into the cars computer just a tailpipe tester

MD checks under the car too (at least in my town they do)
they will not pass you and still take your money, then you will have to pay to fix it and then pay your $14 again for them to say it passed! RIP OFF!!! MD

Nice Magnaflow setup. How about a part number for the Boss specific X-pipe. I don't see it on the Magnaflow site. Should post a sound clip sometime.

They list 2 X-pipes and cat back exhausts on their website. Part #15056: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=all&id=4304
And a second one, #15166: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=all&id=4306
They do not appear to sell just an x-pipe by itself.
Here is a sound clip from Magnaflows website: http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/dom...302_15166.html

Oh ok thanks. I saw those but I guess I didn't know what the **** I was looking at for sure. I see the sound clip is with comp series mufflers. I think I'm leaning toward the Flowmaster American Thunder (817553 kit)sound the more I listen to it. They both sound great tho and it's really a hard decision.
