Congrats on getting one of the coolest vehicle to come out of Detroit (Flat Rock actually) in 40 years. Race Red and Black look awesome. Almost as nice as Competition Orange.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

(well, key, I'm going back tomorrow to tie up the loose ends with the inspection paperwork, since they were closed for about an hour before we reached the point where I could drive off, but I'll be picking up the track key tomorrow morning. I'm a little bit excited about that!)
Not to beat a dead horse, but just to clarify, the dealer should give you the red key, but they won't be able to flash the "red key" tune until later this summer when FRPP releases it. For now it will run the same tune as the "black key".

CO can have white or black stripes too. when i was talkign to my dealer and he told me when i said orange they they wanted $2k down if people ordered CO with white. that is twice the amount of CO with black. he also told me that so far out of the four they ordered all had been CO with black, R/T and the only diff was matts and cover or not. It sounds like CO and black may be the most common.
he also told me i was all good to buy, which when you are self employed buying anything is a nerve racking expirence. they think anyone that files 1099's are liars and destined to not pay some times. i wish I could find me a Q2 car!

Thanks for all the comments everyone!! This car has been a blast so far!
Without quoting everyone, I'll try to hit on some of your comments/questions.
*Picked up the red key today when I went back to finish up the registration/inspection bit. As previously mentioned, the shop was all but closed up by the time I got out of there last night. I understand the new tune won't be available til sometime this summer, but I can honestly say there is a noticeable difference just in the tone of the car's exhaust note between the two keys. Could be my general level of giddiness playing with my ears though, who knows.
*Phone pics are with the iPhone 4. Pro pics with the Canon T1i coming later this evening if I can get a quick detail job done and get to a spot before running out of daylight.
* No dealer markup. Sticker was $40,995, and that's it. They mentioned last night that if the car was still on the showroom by this weekend, though, they'd be adding another $3-5k to that, and they also mentioned that there were other dealers in the state (namely in Houston) that were willing to pay sticker for the car so they could sell it at their shops.
* Couldn't agree more with all of the "lucky" comments, I am fully aware and still in awe at how I lucked out here! In regards to the lunch trip, half of the shop went to one place, half went to another place... I guess I made the right choice, huh?!
* I asked about the Track Attack program, the local folks called up to their regional folks I guess, to try and get more info on it. They said the program was announced late last year but with the BOSS's just now hitting the streets, no one was super sure what was going on with it, but they will be getting back to me via email when they hear more. I'll also be on the mailing list for some upcoming BOSS specific events, which sounds pretty cool.
* General thoughts about the car... blows my mind. Exactly what I want in a new Mustang. If I had to compain about any one thing, just for the sake of complaining, it would be the placement of the release mechanism for the center console storage area... it just happens to fall right below my elbow during normal shifting and pops open on me... But I'll adjust.

Pretty sure you are just "crazy" about the red key doing anything without the tune...
