My car was completed on 2/23. I just got the following from Ford Customer Service, which I think is indicative of a delivery delay:

I got the mats and cover. I thought what the heck I spent this much money, $475 sounds cheap. So no one really knows what the hold up is. We can track a light bulb shipped around the world to the second but can't find out the hold up on a bunch of cars in the states. Glad we have modern technology.

My original delivery date was 3/6, then 3/13; who knows now. Perhaps she asked me to check again next Friday because I had been asking for updates every other day. I suspect she's got my VIN memorized by now and is tired of hearing from me.
I got the accessory package but wish that I had not. I was under the impression that the mats and cover could not be ordered after I take delivery, so I figured what's another $500. I would rather spend that money on a laser interceptor or radar detector, but it's too late now.

I also did not order the Cover or mats but checked with the Local Ford Dealer parts counter and can order from them for about $ 440.00 for both items, also asked the sales manager that ordered CO Boss Dec 12 and was told the car was on commodity hold as of 2/28/11... Didnt want to push the issue as happy to have one ordered.

Trying to figure this all out is mind blowing. While some signs point to a QC hold at this point, I did call at least 4 dealers around me. All are showing 2012 Mustangs on the dealer connection site. Some say dealer ordered and some say available in stock. None of the dealers had any cars yet and they do not know when they will arrive.
I have seen some pics of 12's in lots close to the plant, so maybe it is just a backup of all the cars and not just the Bosses. In any case we will probably only know for sure when the first Boss shows at a dealer somewhere.

I ordered the accessory pack, my order hasn't been pulled, and has a status of "MATERIAL HOLD". The material hold shouldn't be for the accessory pack as there are already some built that have it.

Ford does this on all new models. Forget the build dates for now. Until Ford is satisfied they have no sneaky problems they will sit . We went thru this in 2010, and 2011 on GT500 models as well. As always they will be worth waiting for !
