Bosses on the way?

Have a buddy, who works for a transport company, that delivers Ford cars.
He said they had a meeting about special loading requirements for the 2012 Boss Mustangs. Said they are to be ready for transport on Feb.23.

Guys, this could go back to my earlier post about how my window sticker still says "Convoy" for delivery method when previous cars said "Rail" to my dealership.

Perhaps all Bosses (or maybe just the LS) needs to be transported by truck only due to ground clearance issues.

Nothing is happening until the OK to buy is given. Now if that happens today...

They pick up the cars from the rail drop off location. Don't know about the LS version.

I believe the LS front splitter is not installed at the factory but must be installed by the customer "because it is not street legal". So there is no difference in shipping Boss's and LS's.

This is my understanding as well.

the front splitter on even the regular boss can pose some issues with loading (I've yet to scrape my splitter, but measurements are very low, and if I were to load it up on a flatbed, god forbid, I would need to ramp it way out to do so).

Having worked at Ford in the late 70's, my guess is these vehicles will end up in the Ford Employee "B lot" where used vehicles are sold. Great deals if you can get it.

I don't have any "ins" with Ford LTAE (Light Truck Advanced Engineering) anymore. They are all retired. If I did I'd be getting a Boss below cost through an employee(under the table of course). I bought 3 vehicles off the "B" lot for great savings back then.

The "B" lot hasn't existed for quite a few years now.

Not to mention the Bosses are ineligible for any employee discount program as of yet.

Not even I can get one cheaper and I work for them in VO.

I'm also an Ex...

worked in ford division sales / marketing in 80's / 90's. don't remember there being a B lot even then.

true that there are no a/x/z plan deals available on these. fortunately for me, I still have a few very good friends in the retail side of the business that I treated really well when I was there...and they treat me really well now.

We didn't really do anything with the cars today. Ford was testing them at the track, but we don't officially drive the cars until tomorrow. I puttered around in one for about 15 minutes while doing a photoshoot, but that's about it.
One guy says Ford was testing on Monday. Another guy says that a transport company was told to be ready for Wednesday. I wonder if that means Ford is done with their QC testing and will be releasing the Bosses this week?
