Boss Dilemma(the good kind)
Boss Dilemma(the good kind)
I know there are various threads with people posting Boss' that they know of for sale at certain dealerships and what not. I need an updated list. Here's the deal..
So my dealer called me to let me know that he would give me $2,000 if i opted to not take delivery of my Boss that is being built this week. Aka he got a ridiculous over MSRP offer from someone and this will be a win win situation for the both of us.
Now, if anyone knows of a Kona Blue Boss on the ground somewhere that the dealer would sell for MSRP(or below
) I am very interested in contacting them. I will buy it without hesitation. Location is not an issue(minus Alaska or Hawaii I suppose) Looking forward to any news!
Thanks!

Keep the car you have on order. $2K for your time and hassle of locating another car isn't worth it. At least to me. Or....find out who it is and sell it to that person and you make the $10K ADM.
I looked to two of my local dealers for a new Boss. A big volume dealer was allotted ten but was asking 5k over. As of last week they had only two left. Not ten miles away, another dealer was only given five to sell. They were the first in the area to get a LS Boss and they want (still want) 20k over sticker! However, for the street Boss they are just asking sticker! I ordered a red/black Recaro last weekend! They might have one left! Koons Ford, Falls Church, Virginia
I'm just super happy that the manager at the dealer here 2 minutes away from my house is being a stand up guy about all of this. His words were "Well, I've received lots of calls about the Boss, but told them all it was sold...then a guy came back for a 2nd time and offered substantially more, so I told him that I would approach the guy the car has been sold to." And that's when I received a call. Needless to say, this dealership pretty much locked in my business for the foreseeable future
I agree with 5 DOT O, keep your allocation. For whatever reason Kona cars appear (rightly or wrongly) to be more in demand and difficult to locate.
If you do not mind forgoing this years driving season and opt for a Q3 or Q4 build you might get a Boss under MSRP by a couple grand. But you have lost a season worth of driving.
I suggest keeping the slot.
And good for the dealer by doing the right thing and honoring your sold order. Sadly many do not...

Yeah, that's the initial plan...to keep mine. I mean it is being built on Thursday, so it's coming up real quick. And we're close enough that I guess we just get the cars here by truck, so I shouldn't have any of the rail problems at least. This was more of a test to see if I could find something real quick sitting on a lot somewhere. I don't plan on calling hundreds of dealers because I agree with you in the fact that it isn't worth the hassle.

You can find cars online that state MSRP. For fun I've called a few and they told me there was ADM. I'm sure there is one out there for MSRP or below but good luck finding it. OTOH buying a car is not a life or death experience and I'm sure it will work out either way.
