Boss 302R Intake Tube

I have installed the Petersen Oil canister/separator and have deleted the sound tube on my Boss and now the cold air intake tube has 2 nipples (hehehe ) and 2 caps covering the nipples.

I believe the 302R has a similar cold air intake to the stock Boss, but the 302R intake tube does not have the nipples installed. It would be much cleaner with my setup to intall the 302R intake tube (no nipples). I have looked in the Ford Racing catalogue and could not find the 302R intake tube.

Anyone know where I can can source one?

Any information is appreciated!

The 302R with which I spent a weekend used the factory inlet with the nipples.

I've seen pictures of the 302R engine both with and without the nipples.

I figure there is, or at least was, an intake tube without the nipples installed..whether it's available I guess is another story.

Well, I would suggest that because there are any 302Rs that have the factory inlet with nipples, the one(s) without are not factory parts. These aren't the sort of parts that get lost, wear out, or get damaged in accidents. Therefore, they should all have their original inlet pipes.

My guess is that the streamlined pipes are the work of a crew member with some free time on his hands.

Maybe.

The 302R uses the factory airbox and tube. They have the PCV fitting capped off, one difference you may see is that they have no fuel vapor lines up there (canister in back is gone). What the teams did there is drill and tap those fitting,

You can use the kit from Kendall for the sound tube and two half inch vacuum plugs for the PCV fittings.

Here's PJ with the "mysterious" non-nipple intake tube on the 302R. Looks like a preproduction intake manifold?

Still wondering if anybody knows where I might find this iintake tube without the PCV and sound tube nipples...

How does it compare to the Boss 302S intake tube and airbox?

Is that an Austrailian intake?

Is that Reynolds Wrap?

Does that car have solar panels?

And what's up with those little "nitrous tanks"?

IDK.

LOL

It doesn't seem to compare at all...

I'm starting to think that the pictures I'm looking at are of prototypes or preproduction cars. I have an email in to someone who is looking into it. I still like the idea, even though there's certainly no performance gain; I think it's a very clean piece for those without a PCV connection or sound tube...

Your first clue would be the article that YOU linked to this thread.

Call Rehagen Racing. Maybe they know where one is.

I like Jimmy, he's always been helpful when I had a question, and I'm not sure what you think he did wrong here.
