ARP Wheel Studs & New Nuts for your Boss
ARP Wheel Studs & New Nuts for your Boss
C'mon now, which one of us hasn't thought at one time or another that our Boss needed a new set of tougher nuts?
Seriously, for those of you that are changing wheels back and forth or if you simply want one of the best/safest track set-ups, you might consider our "all-in-one" ARP Wheel Stud kit. Many tracks are starting to require open-end lug nuts. Their challenge is that with all of the aftermarket wheels and wheel spacers available, closed-end lug nuts don't allow them to see how many threads are fully engaged on the lugs. This kit addresses that - and also gives you the best quality wheel studs available.
This is a set of genuine ARP studs along with a corresponding set of new wheel nuts from Ford Racing. The front studs are slightly longer than the rears to accomodate typically thicker OEM or aftermarket rotors.
Replacing the studs is a pretty easy process and can be done on all 4 corners of the car in a couple of hours by the average DIY'r.
Available now on our website.

Good idea making these available Kendall. I'm one of those guys that has the wheels on and off a lot. Last fall, I had a left front rotor that had finally cracked after 18 track days. I went to swap them out and realized I also had just barely started to cord a right front tire, so now not only needed to do a rotor swap, but all four tires. I was just finishing up on the last lug nut on the left front when I spun the factory stud off! I guess it was time to quit
The best part was this happened in the paddock
Anyway, the factory studs will fail after too many cycles of sticky tires, wheels on/off and retorquing. Definitely a good idea for those putting the car on track on a regular basis. I would say I had roughly 5k miles on the car and about 2k track miles. No less than 40 or 50 times on/off with the wheels.

I was going to order these later this year...F it, I'll just get em now.
I already know first hand how much easier this makes getting the wheels on and off the car, plus a lot less risk of cross-threading a lug. Hopefully they get here before my track event next weekend.
Edit: Ordered!

I think they look nice installed, not too long. Posted thread here about how to replace them. I searched around for the very best price and ended up having to order the studs from one place in two sets (front and rear) and the lugs from another place. Kendall's price is right on, one stop shopping.

I have 1" Gorilla lugs and it's 1-1/16" from the top of the lug to the tip of the stud, so it's over 2"....maybe 2-1/2"? My car got covered up last night probably for the remainder of the winter (snow today
) so not really up for pulling a wheel right now. Maybe someone else in a warmer clime can chime in on it.

I'm planning on installing mine ASAP once they show up, so if that question is not answered by then, I'll handle it.
