Check out page 38, they rtan a story on the other boss i had. they contacted me and wanted a few other details about the sale but the buyer prefers to not have all the details in print. i also went to murillo motorsports in san antonio over the weekend. spent two days hanging out with the gang there while they did some work on my boss. The full story will be on StangTV soonish.
Anyway, i had a steeda CAI, dynatech headers, a catted X and flowmaster hush power cat backs installed. murillo uses a mustang dyno in their new location and had a dynojet in their old location. Interestingly they have dynoed cars with the exact same tune on both dynos in similar weather and have a very clear idea of the difference between the two dynos. whp is 20-30 lower on the mustang dyno than the dynojet.
anyhow, the quick details are 370whp box stock and 421whp with a "safe" tune leaving all knock sensors on. interestingly the sct software would not allow mike to set the fuel trims above 6850rpm. obviously that is a big issue on a boss spinning to 7500 where as on a normal gt maxing out at 6850 isn't that big of a deal. the long and short is that once the car passed 6850 the AFR went way rich and cost power. it would make more once the software is updated to handle what the boss will do. in a nutshell the exact numbers are 421.4 at 6621 (which is right at where the tune software maxed out and went rich. car made 363.8 wtq at 5297.

Shane I read the article last night!! Congrats on the tune! BTW my car made 401 on a Mustang dyno without, but with the factory midpipes headers, so they make a huge difference. BTW Lund had no problem tuning my car all the way to 7900 using SCT software...maybe they don't have their software updated?? Anyway I would contact Lund to see if he could do an email tune based of my car and then see what power you could make up high It should be really crazy!!!!
BTW your car COULD run to 8250 before the ecu shuts down the party! I have my soft limiter at 7700 now and the hard limiter at 7800

What did you mean there, it looks like you left something out after the "without" lol. was that 401 with a CAI?

Maybe it was the tune software needed updating, i don't know, he messed with it and it just wouldnt do what he wanted it to.

Nice gains! Really curious as to how it is gonna react with an updated tune. Should have at least another 10rwhp to go. How is the driveability with mods listed? Any increase in low end torque? What size primaries does your Dynatech headers have?

I see zero change in drivabiltiy with the parts installed, the car actually has les drone than it did with the factory exhaust with the restrictors out. it sounds great too, nice and deep but not so loud as to cause worry with teh neighbors or The Man. i uses the dynatech catted X too so i didn't have to worry with dash lights. wtq was 340 stock and 364 after.
As for an updated tune, i honestly suspect it will make some signficiant gains if the rich condition didn't happen at aroudn 6600. the car has nearly 1k to go before redline. my 10 made an extra 10hp (it was blown with a roush m90 and had **** near identical numbers as the NA boss) spinning it 200rpm higher. I suspect with another tune the car would do 440whp or better. it was still building power when it went rich

Great feedback Shane. I too went with the 1-7/8 catted headers. Can't wait to see the results with updated tune. Do you plan on drag racing as well. Curious to see what kind of et's it will do with mods.

Shane, that was a nice article about your former Boss 302. I just received my 5.0 Mustang mag today. Now that the snow is gone up here in Minnesota, the postal service must have put away the dog sleds and are using Camels to deliver the mail !
