From here.

Why kill off a great engine or the suspension with one more year to go in the S197 run?

See ya Boss!

Get your 2013 Boss while they are available and keep it forever.

This is old news about the Boss 302 going away. I announced this fact here 3 months ago on 8/11/12.

Why? Because they were a two year run in 69 and 70 also.

This was Ford's stated plan from the very beginning.

^^ What he said....It was put out 2 years ago it would only be a 2 year run to keep with the heritage of the original Boss 302.
Me personally, I'm glad...

Unhappy

Where do you all get the idea that the plan was to only have a two year production plan for the Boss. I never saw anything specifically stating there would be only a two year production plan. Very bad idea not to continue production of the Boss 302. How can Ford expect to attract repeat customers when they jerk the model like the Boss away from future production. Ford does not yet produce a sports car. They need all the high performance Mustang models to make up for their lack of not offering a sports car. Very poor marketing to drop the Boss 302.

The Boss isn't a big enough seller, why would they keep it?

This has been known since the 2012 BOSS was officially announced. Dave Pericak even said in interviews in Aug 2010 that the production run would stay true to its heritage, referring to the '69 and '70 models.

The 2 year run just like the '69 & '70 was what I had heard and read all along. Not sure why this is coming as such a surprise. Get yours if you want one now or wait for the right pre-owned model to come along.

Really? After seeing the huge amount of happy boss owners on here I would have guessed they sold a lot.

yes, just 2 years for the Boss 302....

BUT 2014 Boss 351 with Shelby's motor without blower...
any bets on that one?

Here's my guess:
Ford will make a 2014 Boss 351 525hp MSRP $55k++ only 1000 units...
.......this will clear out the 2014 before new body of 2015...........

I got yelled at by Overboost for suggesting that. lol

They have already used the 5.4 block with a supercharger on the GT500 and an NA intake on the F150. I don't think its such a big leap to do so on the 5.8.

You're insane. I'd never bet more than 1 bazillion gazillion dollars, the odds just aren't there to justify 3.

It would be pretty sweet, and I'd be all for it.

But....

If there were any evidence to suggest that was true, I don't think the image posted by the OP would indicate a deletion of the series as a whole. Deletion of BOSS 302, that might leave some hope. But the series... Meh... The BOSS boat has sailed IMO.
