2013 Boss LS #46 Reporting for Duty
2013 Boss LS #46 Reporting for Duty
Last night I pulled the trigger on 2013 Laguna Seca #46. I’ve had an LS on order since early May but I became concerned about the allocation so I decided to pull from local inventory. The pic is my son fueling it up since we closed the deal long after the prep department went home. Hopefully today I can drive it around enough to get it out of the dealer/valet mode. Does anybody know what the formula is for that? Miles/starts?
Congratulations on your purchase, Assuming you are talking about Engaging the Red Key (Track Key), you are now in a sort of holding pattern until Ford Racing gets the Key Program # to your dealership. You then have to go back to your dealer and depending on how competent they are, they will program the key to perform over 200 various Track functions ie LOPEY idle, engine braking etc. This cost me $200.00( nothing in life is free)and have you out in about 20-30 minutes at which point you can use either key.

Congrats on the car, it's beautiful! As for the dealer transportation mode.......i would just drive it for 25-50 miles and see if it resets. Like you said, it is dependent on how many miles or starts the car has before it resets. I think someone said it might be in the manual on how to turn it off....don't quote me on that though. It is suppose to be a night and day difference in power. So you will know when it resets.
enjoy.
enjoy.

the valet mode shuts off after about 20 miles or so, that's what I seem to remember, it was clear when it happened.
My car did not go through PDI either. The dealer and my wife surprised me by him bringing it out to the house and it was in the garage with every sticker on it when I got home from work the day it was delivered.

I giggled like a school girl for a good ten minutes. It certainly was a change from the 08 Bullitt.
Oh, you mean when I found it in the garage? Yeah, it was cool, it was after a 16 hour day at work, and after eight months of waiting, calling, obsessing. Sitting there in all its performance white glory.
got the stickers out, and then left the keys locked in the car before I could even start it. (The other key was still at the dealership). I was used to my Bullitt, which you couldn't lock with the keys in the ignition and the motor off (had some kind of security option to keep you from locking the keys in). Man, that was embarassiing.
Just sat in the garage for a hour looking at the car. It was hard to believe that it had finally arrived.

Nice ride! Congrats! You letting your son drive
BrsBoss;
The Track Key 'Lopey Idle' does not kick in until car reaches a certain temp.
Do a search on Track Key & it will explain all the different aspects of it.
Also, you''ll want to make sure it says 'Track Key Enabled' when you use the Red key.
We all have them but unless you have the PCM program enabled, the Red key is same as the black key.

Welcome to TMS.
A few things have to happen before the Lopie idle kicks in.
Engine temp at 170' wait a few minutes and then bump the throttle.
Read through the TK instructions, I could be wrong.
If that does not work. Give the dealer a call. It's possible a error may have been made during the install.
Enjoy the new ride.
