I was wrong

For starters I did not drive it, even though it felt like it. Today I drove it. The MPG thing was wrong I reset it and it is giving me about 14.1 now. I finally got the heart pounding feeling, first time was pulling out on 95, no cars coming, jumped on it around a car in front on the entrance ramp and a couple of seconds later I looked down at 120. Got it to about 130 later but that is all for me on public roads. Up to 70 it feels like you are doing 20 on your houses side street. I know that have been over said/used but with the Boss it is true.

Not until above 80 do you start to feel like you are moving at all. The car makes so much power above 5500 RPM's it makes it feel like lower revs have no power. It is not until you pass a car do you realize the power really is there, you zip around another car and are way out front of it on a country road before before you know it and that is at 3000-4000 RPM's.

The sound is great like I said yesterday, not too much or little. From almost nothing sitting at a light to not being able to talk to someone next to you in a normal tone at 6500 plus. I really would not change it as I think it would make it annoying at speed. If you want everyone to look at you at a light you can just sit there and rev it in neutral, not my thing and besides everyone is looking at it anyway.

Above 700 RPM's and it starts to sound like it has a blower on it, you can hear it whine just a bit even with the discs out. God I really wish they had a shaker hood on the Boss. Another problem I have found with the car is the shifter, above 110 or 6500 your plams get sweaty and it is hard to hold onto the shifter

Boss Translation 65 MPH or Above

The roads I was able to open up to about 130. I hit these turns (going in) around 60, I had setting 3 dialed in, a little body roll but it felt completely under contol. I do not want to push it more until I hit a track, I am sure I can but need some track time to find the line between rounding the corner and pulling the Boss out of a swamp.

Around a wider, not sharp 90 turn you feel very little if no body roll. The seats feel like the were custom made for me. You do not even notice they are snug around you until you think about it. I am 6'1" and 185.

Good to hear about the seats. I sat in one, but sitting in a non moving vehicle at an auto show can only tell you so much compared to sitting in a full motion turning vehicle. You are about the same size as me too, so good to know that everything feels right!

5' 11" 177 and I had the same reaction as Scott. I love these seats and can't wait to try them on track in a couple weeks.

Few more of things you may or may not have seen. These were taken at night. Looks like 6 1/2 inches on the front splitter. Speaking of the splitter it is much bolder then I had imagined from the pics. The LS splitter IMHO will not be able to be used for regular driving, unless you plan to buy a lot of them.

Scott, or Dave or...

What do you guys think of the cloth/faux suede on the seats and the Alcantara on the steering wheel? Also how about the brushed aluminum pieces throughout the interior. They are the same as the GT500 and supposed to be real aluminum not plastic.

The cloth/faux suede on the seats is phenomenal actually. They are far more comfortable than leather, and you don't slide on it like leather. I have to say they are easily the best automotive seats I've ever tried.

The steering wheel is also superior to a leather wrapped one. It provides a much better feel and similarly not slippery like leather. The dash looks good, but is darker than I thought it was going to be. It's closer in color to my GT500.

Boy, hard questions. This car has been all about driving I have spent very little time even looking anything over, just the opposite of any other car I ever owned. Hey, today I tried the radio while waxing, it works

I don't know about the dash, but two impressions on the seats and wheel. The seats seem just right for me and not in any way like cheap fabric or like it would wear out quick. They always look dirty, even when I pulled the plastic off. If you brush them with your hand in one direction then they do not. I hate leather, I will do anything to avoid it and was super happy the Boss was not leather.

The steering wheel feels great, I was thinking today it would be nice to have in the 70, really. I worry about getting it dirty to the point I wash my hands before I drive it. I also worry about how it will hold up because it is so soft, not that it shows signs of wear, I just worry about it since it is new to me. I do think it will hold dirt if you dive it without clean hands, just my opinion.

Thanks guys. The Alcantara is supposed to be very durable, it costs a small fortune, but I also worry about it getting stained. But I won't clean it like the guy in the BMW video. Anyone adding tape to their wheel?

Guess I'll bring home a bunch of alcohol hand wipes and keep them in the car so I can clean my hands before driving.

Scott, that is absolutely a beautiful car, and you did a great job of reporting your impressions! I'm sure that you are going to continue to love it even though it is a bit slower than a PW Boss.......
I'm thinking that mine will be a pretty low number, with a 200331 VIN and a 2/15 build date, but who knows?

Good news, my Boss (finally) left New Boston on a rail car late morning on Saturday. As of very early this morning (Monday the 28th) it was in Louisville, KY. With a little luck and a tail wind I ought to see it this weekend. It has to get to Dixiana, SC to be offloaded and then delivered to Charleston.
