Hallo,
have you any information, which transmissions will be used in the 2015 Mustang?
Will the introduce a new Automatic-Transmission, or will the keep (at least in the beginning) the 6-speed auto?

The 9 & 10 speed autos being developed by Ford and GM won't be available yet, so I'd expect Ford to stick with the 6 speed auto until the next refresh, at least.

Now that the Corvette has a 7 speed transmission, I wonder if Ford will do the same with its top of the line Mustang manual trans with the exception of making the first five or six gears properly spaced for maximizing acceleration and top speed then reserving the final gear or two gears as overdrives.
In the new C7 the Tremec TR6070 has almost as many overdrive gears as it has forward ratios as 5th and above are OD.
If Ford goes this route, hopefully GM will have a Z06 and ZR1 with more performance orientated ratios to pick from in the parts bin.

My guess, look at the 2014 for the answer. Ford often seems to offset their new platform intros from their drivetrain intros by a year or two, at least with the Stang.
That said, we're likely to see a new (to the Mustang) turbo four at the outset of the 2015 -- not sure what tranny's would back that up (same boxes as the V6 perhaps?).

I've been driving Audi/Volkswagen DSGs for 9 years now. TT, GLI and finally an R-Line CC. 99.99% of the time they did a great job shifting. Far better than I ever could daily driving a manual. The biggest weakness was up until a few years ago, they couldn't handle high torque engines. That appears to have been resolved.
I hope the next gen drops the automatic and incorporates an automated manual of the quality of Audi/Volkswagen/Porsche.

Agreed. I've driven a few DSGs and have always come away VERY impressed, and this coming from a long time stick wriggler. Ideally, I'd love to see a suitable capacity DSG supplant the slush box auto rather than the old school manual.
I have seen/heard anything to that effect though as Ford seems to be clutching to their torque converters.

I think an DSG and a torque converter auto can coexist in the lineup, but I'm not optimistic a DSG is coming. Which is too bad because they're lovely when done right.

Ford had an auto manual in their Focus for a time but according to reviews didn't shift very well. I thought they dropped it. Porsche on the other hand now only offers their PDK automated manual on their new 911 Turbo.

I heard that too but two of my coworkers have had no issues with theirs. I always drove gas 2.0Ts.

But it's only used for low torque situations. So they're behind VW on this.

I don't know... current Mustang drivers can't find the gates with the 6 spd Getrag. Don't make it worse with a 7 spd.
