What are some improvements you want to see in the NEXT GEN redesign?

Toyota probably makes more Camrys in a month than Ford does Mustangs all year, so economy of scale is relevant, but the slight additional cost would come from having two separate rear quarter body panels. To illustrate Ford's cheapness, consider that Toyota's low volume (probably lower than the Mustang) Solara coupe and convertible each had its own different rear quarter body panel and antenna location. Ford's cheapness on the antenna isn't surprising when one remembers that Ford most likely chose to use a solid rear axle on the generation current Mustang to save around $100 per car. I'm hoping Ford's new mentality will give the next Mustang both independent suspension and two different antennas for the coupe and convertible. The antenna is a minor issue, but it stinks of cheapness.

Well that's my point Ford has come a long way in a 10 year period. The new cars have superior build quality, interior quality and reliability but at the same time with rising msrp we should expect more from them in 2015... the antenna is a perfect example ... perhaps a full size spare tire too.

seatback adjustment memory
how about manual seats that unlock the seatback easily and retain their adjustment? I had a chrysler product that did that- you could unfold the seatback to access the rear seat area, then the seatback would lock back in its original position when moved back.

I agree- that was one of my biggest issues when I got mine dec 05...and would be nice if they didnt break off so easy, only part on my car thats broke so far-twice- is the seatback levers, folks without kids in the backseat dont realize what a pita it is compared to other cars. the tip/slide van seat type mounts would be great too.

Re-iterating the dash/gauges/speedo.
With the near future offering very personalized gauges with the MyFordTouch look.
I'd hope to see one offering on the speed. At the setting or touch of a button, flip from MPH to KM/H. One set of gauges for all the different countries.
Also... send some canuck love this way and offer coin slots in the arm rest for Loonies and Toonies.

my sister's 2000 bonneville has that haha, tons of features you see in early 200s late 90s luxury cars, you will see them rolling out in normal cars now, which is sad imo

There is actually no excuse for the current Mustang to not have the seatback return to it's original position after folding it forward to let passengers in the back seat area. I have had numerous previous vehicles that did not force me to readjust the seatback every time I folded it forward... And some of them were previous generation Mustangs and Thunderbirds.

Cylinder Deactivation/Displacement on Demand/Active Fuel Management/Multiple Displacement Systems? They're touchy creatures. As long as the programming isnt too intrusive it isnt bad. My Challenger has it and it was made more touchy for 2010, it intrudes alot. This intrusion causes throttle delay and the engine bogs as it reactivates the cylinders and rev's the RPM up to get power going again. While .5 seconds doesnt sound like alot..trust me..it is.
What Ford could do, if they were wise, is make it user controlled. "Oh I'm driving on the interstate, just cruising? I'll turn it on with this little button on the center stack" "Oh I'm wanting to do some hot rodding without throttle delay? off it goes".
Best of both worlds, fuel economy without a nosey computer deciding if you want to drive a V4 or V8.

Note, MDS can be defeated by the driver, anything apart from shifting into [D] prevents MDS from activating, and a tuner (Diablo Predator for example) can permanently set it to disabled.
Anyway, my point is the technology has been available, at least by other makers, for quite some time.

I don't even have my Mustang yet, but already during test drives, adjustable seat belt anchor points. I fairly immediately became annoyed by the seat belt rubbing on my neck. That can't an item that's very expensive to implement.
Other options to adjust the car to the driver are always a plus.

I know this is less likely but another thing I'd be interested in is an OPTIONAL AWD system. I know other RWD based cars are beginning to offer it like the Charger and Infinity G cars. I think something like the Infinity AWD system would be cool for those of us in the snow belt. With the infinity G cars the AWD only kicks in when the extra traction is needed, otherwise it is a slightly heavier RWD car.
I think if this is a $1500-2000 option I would pay the extra couple bucks. Many Mustang fans tend to stay away from purchasing one as an everyday vehicle because of traction issues in the winter in my area.
I know that people will and can drive a Mustang in snowy conditions but I feel it would be a great option to have AWD.
