What benefit is a GT premium over a GT?
I don't know a ton about the 15s, but coming from a loaded Focus ST-2 to a brembo pack base 14 gt, I went from a very "premium" feeling interior to a pretty quiet and basic interior.
My 14 had the basic comfort package with sync, Bluetooth and a power drivers seat (which my ST didn't even have) and the brembo package with 3.73 gears and Torsen LSD as individual options. The package was the only way I could go to a brand new gt and keep my payments the same while still getting the performance options I wanted and upgraded wheel/tires, but I was afraid the already dated base interior wouldn't be up to my tankard after driving a very well appointed ST for 18 months...
After a week, I was surprised at how nice it was to be without the touch screens and extra buttons, and with basic controls. I feel like the mustang is the type of car that provides it's own driving experience without the need for all the extras... The sounds and feelings are enough for me, even as my daily driver. I miss push button start and keyless entry but that habit is now broken.. I miss a few of the little features, but one of my favorite things about the mustang base interior (besides the comfy cloth seats) is the feature to shut off all information on the dash! No Eco shift light going off every shift, no numbers for milage or time... Just the two important gauges I need.
All in all, the basicness of the 2014 gt interior is actually a strength for me... I couldn't afford the car new otherwise with the options I wanted. If I could add anything it would be push start and keyless entry and the track apps screen, but aside from that, the coyote is enough of an option on it's own. To each their own, but the barebones thing grew on me quick. Reminds me of my old 2006 focus st 5 speed, which was an excellent car. No frills but completely functional and idiot proof

I know it's not a 15, but in my 14, I find myself getting lost in the mechanicals of the car. I haven't even set my radio presets. I'm just happy with the power, the manual transmission, and the Glass Roof. All the other stuff is cool to show off, but wasn't necessary. I do like that I can turn the screen off at night, dim all the lights, and pretend I'm flying a plane :P

On my 2011 I would spend hours on end detailing and waxing it. Doing that is therapeutic for me.
Yep I ordered my car with all the options, but after having it a few days, I realize I didn't *need* all those things. I mean I wanted them, and could afford them, but the combination of the basics and Glass Roof is perfect!
Either way, it was all I wanted, and the options are "optional" to me. If I were buying a 2015, I would either get a pretty well appointed ecoboost or a near base model gt like my 2014. My thinking is, if it's not the v8 it better be loaded, if it is the v8, make sure it has performance options and save money for mods. If I wanted a comfortable and practical dd I wouldn't have bought the 5.0 haha, granted I do daily drive it... I just value the driving experience more than the extras.
You are correct, thanks for correcting me! I just knew it was basically the poor mans track pack haha. Either way, it was all I wanted, and the options are "optional" to me. AXLE BACKS
AXLE
Borla s Borla s Borla s
Yeh same here. Once I started comparing features and the price difference I was like "why the hell spend all that extra for the premium!"
Makes getting the 15 that much more affordable.
If I ever need nav I can use my phone or our external garmin we have had.
I think the first thing going on mine will be Magnaflow Competition Axle Backs!

. Reading about the 2015 is making me wish I had waited though. More power, more options, IRS for similar money. Making me consider it.
Hey I'm all for getting the TP. But it's $800 more than a Brembo + 3.73. For a slightly bigger radiator, a $100 oil cooler, and a Torsen LSD that REPLACES a "better in some conditions" clutch pack LSD. The value is meh IMO which is why I opted for the Brembo + 3.73.

You can turn the screen off at night on a 14 GT Premium? I enjoy driving my car so much I haven't bothered to look through all of the options I guess.
and the Track Pack is the poor man's Boss 302
. The salesman tried to talk me into a Brembo package with 3.73's because that's what they had on the lot. I agree it gives a good bit of what the TP offers but the TP has a few more goodies for not a lot more money. Reading about the 2015 is making me wish I had waited though. To me it's a good value, especially with the factory warranty. But if you know you are drag racing, or don't live in the heat, or bought an automatic transmission or convertible then the Brembo is the way to go, unless even that's not enough.
Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it's an $800 difference vs. Brembo *without* 3.73. If I recall correctly, the clutch pack 3.73 by itself adds $300. So the radiator, oil cooler and other potentially undocumented items look like a $500 difference to me. To me it's a good value, especially with the factory warranty. Don't get me wrong, I'd love the finned dif cover and the PAINTED AXLE
(the radiator and oil cooler is worthless to me. It's mainly bigger to support the oil cooler better which is decent at best at cooling the oil.). But we do know what the differences are, nothing undocumented at this point, and most of those extra items don't start to make a difference until extreme heat limits have been reached. And personally (I'm in the minority) I prefer the clutch LSD over the Torsen. Maybe if there was no LSD at all without the TP it would have swayed me.
Well, when I said undocumented I was talking about the Ford build and price as well as the order guide. There are additional items added to the track pack that were only discovered and confirmed through the forums and contributions from insiders. This information can be found with Google but is not official.
I'm being intentionally vague because I don't know what enhancements were added due to model year changes, which were added to both Brembo and TP, etc. The point is if you count these items and they matter to you, there is an exceptional value to the TP.
But if you're drag racing it's pretty much all stuff you wouldn't want for 12 seconds of extreme duty.
Except me. I mean, I live in the desert, of course I want a bigger radiator for $500 spread over payments! My Torsen can take what little I dish out.
