What benefit is a GT premium over a GT?
#22
I haven't really seen too much into the 15s yet. However as someone who has owned both a 13 base and premium. There is a night and day difference between the quality of interiors. I'd believe that trend will follow into the new 15s.
The cloth seats are OK but the leather is super nice and has a more luxiourious feel. Also the track apps make the dash look way better compared to the analog gauges on a base. Mine has Nav so the it looks 1000x times better than the stock setup. Also my base didn't have sync, definitely a must have.
To save some costs, maybe get sync and then add some leather takeoffs down the road.

The Premium adds the leather of course, Shaker 500W, power seats, cruise, LCD display w/track apps, different interior trim, etc. On the convert premium it upgrades the top from vinyl to cloth. In '13 the Premium added the strut brace, not sure if the strut brace was available on the '14 base.

Are you rolling 19s? I read in another thread that the STB is somehow tied to 19" wheel options. So track or Brembo packs, but can't confirm if you just order shiny 19s if it comes with the STB.

Then I believe you got a free one, because this has been covered before. Either that or they started adding them late because I have a '13 GT premium and no STB and neither did other non-TP GTs when they were first rolling out. Do you have a late build?

Hmmm. It is brembo so yes I also have the 19's. Idk then. Maybe it was tied to that.

Yeah it's a late 13 build. But definitely not a mistake. I do know that the track apps were exclusive to track pack 13's early on as well but they changed it mid build yr to be on all premiums. So maybe they made the same adjustment to the STB bc I had always been told it was connected to premium or not. This is how it was for the 14MY, so it would make sense that this could have been implemented for late 13's too.

Either way doesn't this info help with your original question? Lots of good info here on the differences and even a first hand opinion from having both. Granted they are not the year you're looking for, but the differences should still be of the same magnitude.

You're absolutely wrong here buddy. The STB has come with ALL 2010 and up Mustang Coupes equipped with 19" wheels, and ALL 2010 and up Mustang Convertibles. It has nothing to do with Base versus Premium or Track Pack/non Track Pack.

You know, now that you say it, I think I've heard that before. Maybe I was remembering the speculation, not the answer, my bad.

Griff. First off, you never specified in the original post which yr you were talking about. So people guessed and started talking about 13-14.

I'd have to look through all of the sheets again to be sure personally. The 15MY being stepped up across the board could very well give you a very nice base gt. This wasn't necessarily the case for 13/14MY.
