I have no desire to shift. It would be much nicer to have the car do it for me and when I need it to.
Last year I drove that Ferrari a few laps. I had all intention on using the paddles but after the first couple practice laps, I found that the computer shifted exactly when it needed to. Downshift up shift, it was on point at the exact time I needed. I know Ford is not there yet but dang it was nice.

For around town I enjoy the MT, but I am also not driving in Dallas traffic on a daily basis. If I were or I was going to the strip every weekend I'd definitely get an AT because of the consistency and ease.

The decision would be easier if the paddle shifters were different. I test drove an AT (and then had one for almost a week when my car was in repair) and the shifters didn't do much for me. I pretty much let the computer do what it wanted to do.

I was on the fence of manual vs automatic. Went MT for the performance pack. Honestly I would be just as happy with an auto. It's not that exciting running through the gears most of the time. Just those brief times I run the gears.

I'm in my mid 50's also. Can't lets a silly foot cramp spoil the daily joy rides!
