Is that a new motor? The echo boost, a sound reflective turbo :-) :-)

I heard an EcobooStang and almost threw up. Hearing that "ring ding" sound from a Mustang is just wrong.

Would you rather hear an EB or nothing at all?

I recently drove an RS7, which has a turbo V8. I'm trying to imagine how silly calling such a thing "ecoboost" would be...

Nothing at all, as long as I can still shift gears in it. Electric cars *do* make noise, but it's different. Drive a Tesla Roadster. That is a very PURE driving experience. Couple that with a manual gearbox, and I could live with it. It sounds like you're driving an RC car or a turbine powered car.

They sure do make noise.. the nissan leafs (leaves?) that a few people here at work have....you can hear the tires rolling on the pavement...

the thing has to have a "reverse alarm" ( think beep beep beep) when backing up so you know it is moving..

I have a buddy that has one. I tease him sometimes...

"When a leaf breaks down on the road, how do you move it ? A Rake? A leaf blower?"

LOL

I could also live with an electric if it included a manual gearbox

Never drove the roadster, but we have a few Model S test cars up here. **** those things are quick. My Track Pack would not stand a chance in a 1/4 against one of those. Fun to drive too for such a big car.

I can imaging a manual roadster would be blase on a Lotus frame.

The Model S is definitely fast, and yes the P85+ (not even the D) would take a stock GT in the 1/4, but it still leaves me numb. In a similar way, the Roadster does too, but the Roadster makes up for the lack of mechanical experience with wind and the sights of driving a mid-engine car 40" off the ground!

I would love an electric mustang as long as it had a skookum sound system complete with subs and tubes under the hood and along the drive train to simulate the sound of a v8, both within and from outside the car
I want that tesla torque too though

I'd have to pump some V8 sounds through some woofers when I drove around just to get a feeling I was in something powerful.

Emissions are important for us," said Hatz, "And we will reduce faster than the industry. Every new model will have lower CO2 than before. There aren't so many technologies to do it. If you look at euro per g/km then it's turbo. Then at the end of the decade electrification has to be the next huge step." Does that mean a hybrid for the all-new 911? "Yes."
It's coming sooner rather than later.

You and your bloody manual... They are going to bury you with one...

Most electric cars don't have gears, they are one speed (this is slowly changing)

I am excited to hear how well the new Mustang autos are doing. It's been a long time coming since Ford had a decent auto trans. No more having to stick a 10sec car is great.
