Some people prefer the instant off-idle boost of the roots style. Roots build power/torque sooner but can flatten out more near the top of the RPM range. Centrifugal units make their power a little later in the RPM range. To me, the car already can easily overpower the rear tires in stock form, so I figured the power is more usable for the street in centrifugal form. At least that is my opinion on it. Most folks do seem to go for the roots style and they do tend to look more 'factory' when installed.
Still, the fact that you can get a 36K warranty with a Ford Racing roots style on the 16's is a big selling point.
