STILL NO SPECIFICATIONS???
They've already released weight figures (or at least close enough to satisfy most people), and power figures are really already known as well. They say they'll have "at least X horsepower", it's a pretty good bet that's how much horsepower it'll make. If it makes more, then bonus.
Given the "leaky nature" of the Internet, I suspect we will see the final numbers on power and performance by the end of July or early August. This is just a guess, based on what happened previously with the 2005 and 2010 model year introductions.
If you liked the design, there was enough information out there to feel comfortable with what you would get by the time ordering started on May 20. For me personally, since I already have a 2010 GT, it was fairly straightforward to make the leap. I commend those new folks who never owned a Mustang, however, to order. That's a demonstration of this car's appeal.

The weight is already out there, but the official stuff is going to come with the media drives. Right now, they probably are close (if they haven't done it already) to building the final prototypes which production spec. If they do like previous model years, I'd see those being made available soon for test drives so that the media can get their stories out around the time of production start-up in August. I'm betting they are waiting on actual production cars for the public (or the test builds on the new line) before they release actual figures. Probably pull a full production motor off the line and do a dyno test. My bet is that all the cars you see at shows now don't have the production car internals in the motor. Probably a stock '14 engine.
I think the reason we don't see specs or confirmation when job 1 will start is because Ford wants to sell as many 2014's as they can. This is done by every manufacturer especially on a high volume vehicle like Mustang, Camaro, and yes even Camry and Fusion. They want the current inventory to be depleted so there aren't as many around when the new model comes online. This looks good for their bottom line as they can say "mustang sold this many units over Camaro or "Camry is still best selling car in it's class" . The Hellcat is a low volume vehicle which will appeal to hardcore enthusiasts with the money to spend whereas with Mustang, they sell many many more of even the base car than all the Challengers combined. When a new Camaro comes out I would expect GMAIL to do the same thing..

I agree that they want to sell off the 14's, but I think there is something else at play here. Remember when the 2011's dropped with the huge HP jump over the out going 2010's and how mad people were that bought the 2010 and I know dealers who had 2010's still on the lots that I never saw get sold.
We all know the new car is better as it is but if rumors are true that HP could be up to 450 who in there right mind would buy a comparably equipped 2014 right now?
So Ford doesn't want to release the info and kill off any possible sales. Heck my local dealer has a 2014 that has been on their lot for close to a year now

Of course, but unless you really want a 2015, a 20hp increase is not reason enough to wait for one. And even then, the hp increase isn't finalized yet, so no one knows how much it will be rated at.
With the '15 I don't have to buy new shocks/struts and springs to actually get it to sit right and not look like a 4 x 4.
Also I can get a Base Gt with the performance pack and have more of a car than my 2011 was even with it being the GT premium.
