Seat Stitching Discoloration

I have seen various posts about this and I checked mine - sure enough there is discoloration there. Does anyone know if Ford will do anything about this?

Is it stained? What color is it turning. I have a 2014 and it looks like new?

You should have your dealer check it out first, golfertp. Also, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can loop the service manager for your area.

Here are some pics - which given my lack of picture taking ability - may make it tough to see. However, it goes from white to "rust" color at the bottom of each seat back on both sides. It is stained all the way down, even in areas where nothing touches it or rubs on it.

Yeah that looks like dirt or maybe a spray on tan residue.

I have a little of this. I can think of absolutely nothing that I would have done to cause this. I just noticed this a couple of days ago. My car has about 2k on it and is about 2 months old.

I have this on my 2013 on the passenger seat which gets next to no use and most of the recent reports are on new or near new cars. I would think it is either the leather dye or maybe a wax/lube used on the stitching staining the thread. I haven't tried to do anything and honestly I am not much bothered by it. I bought used and am out of warranty anyhow. I may try to clean it some day or even it out with a black dye.

Thank you for the PM, golfertp. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Be sure to make an appointment with your dealer to get this checked out, simple06. Also, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number as well.
