It almost looks like the trunk opening is even smaller now.

Judging by the rims (that weve seen on show cars so far) it looks like it may be an ecoboost.
But im probably wrong because i think i remember reading somewhere that the first model was gonna be a 5.0

No hood vents............so I think you're right with the V6/Ecoboost assumption

This will not be the first "production" car. It's probably a pilot car to demonstrate and train the processes and setup for building it on the assembly line. I would guess more than a few are built this way prior to actual vin cars being built.

X is correct. This car is most likely for training purposes for the line crew to get used to its build, since its a different car all together. Job#1 isn't till August 11, so this is only a pre-pro car.

Dang....I had my colors narrowed down to DIB, ingot silver, or guard. Now I have this
one to consider. I have to see them in person though. I want one that really shows
off the lines of the car the best. So far...the guard looks like my front runner.

I wonder if Ford is now using the same process to detect paint defects as they've implemented with the trucks? Prior to the new process workers would inspect the vehicles to identify defects and correct as needed. Either they were replaced (I can't remember if the article I read said that the former staff was redundant with the new system) or the process was enhanced with optical scanning improving the detection of defects on the trucks.
