rattle in new mustang

hi,

I drive a 2018 mustang with ~500 miles on it. from day 2 I noticed rattling sound (plastic to plastic) coming from dash, also from rear passenger side; I have been busy with my job and was not able to visit dealership. what is your experience are things like this covered by factory warranty?

thanks,
David

Yes, rattles are covered but the problem is...…………..There is a very good chance your dealer will scratch and destroy other 'perfect' parts to fix the squeaks in your Mustang. Take a lot of pictures of the interior and the exterior. Good luck and let us know how it goes

Yeah, I cringe at the thought of going to the dealership as well. However, the three times I've had it there in the last 6 years were all good experiences. First was drivers air bag recall, second was my only warranty work with just 200 miles left on the bumper to bumper, and the last was the passenger airbag recall.

Fix it yourself. Not worth a trip to the dealer and your car will develop other rattles over time. Just turn the stereo volume up or get a louder exhaust

I agree with the others. I suggest to get your significant other, or a friend to ride you around while you search out those offending squeaks/rattles. I've done that a few times, and was able to zero in on the problem.

That really depends on the rattle or squeak, and where it's coming from my friend. If you can find your's, let us know. We'll certainly try to help. I know how aggravating something like that can be.

I just found the reason for a squeak in my '18. It was coming from just behind my left ear while in the drivers seat. After a few misses I found that it was actually the seat belt rubbing the top of the seat back just behind my shoulder. I put the belt back in the seat guide (we have a convertible), and the squeak stopped. Sometimes it just crazy stuff like that.
