Nitto NT 555 g2 ?
Any thoughts on the nitto NT555 g2 tires. Looking to replace the tires on a 2017 gt 5.0 convertible. Been seeing some great reviews on these. Note I知 a spirited driver and like to push things from time to time. I知 from Wisconsin and no snow for this car. So this is a summer only tire offered from nitto. Also would like to go a little bigger on stock rims and no staggered rims isn稚 an option at this time due to cost. So what I知 saying would like to go from stock size of 255/40/19 to 265/40/19. Any issues with this. My mechanic whome I trust being a mustang fanatic said you can actually go up two sizes. But again thoughts on the nitto NT 555 g2 and going up to 265/40/19 from 255/40/19. Thanks and go.

try a search, I think I remember some old threads about them
regarding the size -- check your wheel width, and make sure the recommended wheel width of the tires matches your wheels; and the overall tire diameter is not more than about 1/2" bigger than your original tires . . . that info should be available on Nitto web

I use the nitto 555s G2s on rear of my 2020GT and they're decent tire I do drags and autox. They definitely help with traction compared to the **** pzero tires they come with, I'm running 305/30/20s so I have decent amount of tire on the ground they seem to hook bit better when I drop pressure to 28lbs I run at 35lbs on street though. I think the next set of tires i get I'm going to go with the Firehawks few buddies switched to them and swear they're 10x better then nitto 555s.

I have heard some amazing claims for those Firehawks . . . one guy (who is a big talker) at my local road track, says he has them on his Benz, and claims lap times that rival the formula cars on that track . . . apparently they are really really good tires, so good they can defy the laws of physics, LOL

Lol yeah I bet. I used to work at a tire company for 6 years before this job. Got to know tires pretty well. They are pretty good tires. Back then 10+ years ago they used them on some police cars. Technology has advanced now and see some tires that are better of course.
