285/40/18 all-season high-perf tires ?

Why am I having such a hard time finding an all-season high-performance tire in 285/40R18 ??

This size was once the stock rear size on GT500's so I would think that some all-season options to be out there but I'm not finding almost anything.

Everything's a summer tire.

I want all-seasons so that I'll still be able to drive the car in the cold weather before the snow actually starts falling.

And yes, my car's currently equipped with the factory 19's but I'm looking into a set of 18's for my summer set-up and that's the size I'm 99% sure that I'm gonna run.

Is there even such a thing? Isn't it like wanting your tea hot and cold?

There'd better be!

If not, it's gonna throw quite a wrench in my plans to get these 18" rims, and I've wanted this design wheels for a long time ...

I don't think anyone makes an all season tire in that size. You can get all season tires in a 285/40/19 or a 285/40/17, but not on the 18 inch rim.

You could drop the sidewall to a 285/35/18 and there are several all season tires to choose from in that size, but there are none with the 40 ratio sidewall.

Go 285/35/18 and adjust your speedo through your tuner if you need to. That's pretty much what you are stuck with unless you go to a 275.

I think I'm gonna have to pass on the sweet 18" rims and just get some 285/35/19's for the stock rear rims ... then worry about a dedicated winter set later on.

Did you look at all of the Goodyear Eagles F1s? They have a variety of all seasons in 18s.

They have one tire in the 285/40/18 size, their Eagle F1 SuperCar, which they list as "Ultra high-performance and dry traction" , so that would be a summer tire ...
