+1

They couldve had a regular coyote motor but beefed up transmission as well as testing flow of exhaust through the pipes and how well the all new susension set-up was working.

My Whipple features helical gears and sadly it doesn't make much noise. Great for a sleeper but not so much when you love that sweet blower whine.

The S197 will hold 285-wide fronts (barely) and I have the 315 888's on the back flush with the fender. I'm guessing the excitement is that this appears to come with the wheels and tires from the dealership instead of the aftermarket shop.

Part if it is the much wider track in the rear and wider haunches, exaggerating the look.

It does have a wider wheel base, I believe.

From what I have heard of the S550 is that there is 16" of room in the rear wheel wells which should leave some room for some pretty meaty tires out back.

Just fitting the rubber in there isn't as important as the suspension geometry being able to take advantage of it. That's where the new platform will really be able to shine.

Pretty sure the IRS will do that by itself.

Yeah but how many Terminator owners slapped 305s on their cars only to snap an axle? Hopefully this new IRS is as good as they say it is!

That was because the IRS was "tossed" into the body designed for solid axle. With the 2015 mustang being built with IRS from the ground up, this issue shouldn't happen.

Provided the individual components are up to the task. Hopefully Ford in addition to controlling axle hop had an eye on what happens when tires don't spin and the rear end has to cope with all that twisting force.

After what they did with the focus and fiesta st, I have a lot of faith that their current suspension guys know their stuff. Fingers crossed.

Interesting vid. It sounds pretty loud for a "stock" Mustang. We need more videos.

So, will this be an SVT vehicle or a special edition more along the lines of the boss302?
