More GT350 News Trickling Out

So much of the news lately has been devoted to the muscle car explosion bonanza that is Dodge with both its Hellcats, that the original pony car has been lost in the shuffle -- especially when the rumors and news coming out have actually been pretty interesting.
First off, while we reported on how the GT350 was caught testing at the Nürburgring, we neglected to inform you that it, like many other cars before it, almost met its fate while running around the infamous track.

^^^^this^^^^ will be my next car whatever its moniker, but I seriously doubt that it'll be priced under $50k. That's nearly $15k less than the '14 GT500, plus 2 MYs newer, w/IRS and a plethora of new features. While I hope that I'm wrong, I'd say that it'll be priced in the upper 60s... additional performance upgrades, like a track-pack- if available, will push it to, or past, the 70 mark... or not
It can't be over 60k. A hellcat starts at 60k with 707hp. You have a gt500 that is from 55-70k depending on options for 660hp. If they put this out there for the same price as a gt500 with 100 less hp no one will really buy it. Now if it comes out with over 660hp than I can see it being 60k or over. They will have to put the right price tag on this car to sell it. It has to be more than a GT but less than a gt500. But of course like I said it all depends on the horsepower of the car and what it offers. But me as a buyer I wouldn't pay over 60k for this car if it had less hp than a gt500 or the hellcat and I am a die hard Mustang guy and I really want this new gt350. I would say it will start out at 45kish range with 500-600hp...but I guess time will tell and we will eventually see the numbers...And if anyone is dumb enough to spend 75k on a Z/28 that only has 505hp is simply retarded when you can spend 10-15k less for 150-200 more hp and a better performing car..

Why would Ford release an inferior product? The bar has already been set, and I'm certain that they'll rise to the occasion.
The 2016 SVT will be built to rival the Hellcat and Z/28, and not as a go-between the "new" GT and the "legacy" GT500. It will be the S550's marquee model and the HP will be there...
Edit: You might want to check your figures again for a 2014 GT500...

There isn't going to be a 2016 GT500.. The GT350 will be the new top of the line SVT model.
Ford isn't about to just sit back and allow the Challenger Hellcat and Z-28 Camaro to outperform the GT350 by over 150+ HP.
I expect the 16 GT350 to be around 725+ HP by the time it arrives next summer/early fall of 15..

By the same token, why buy a Corvette when you could get a 580hp ZL1 for the same money or buy a 911 GT3, or an M4 or a litany of other cars that don't offer the same HP/dollar ratio as a GT500 or Hellcat car.
