You're getting some reliable info from a UAW guy who works in a manufacturing plant? Really? I mean, really?

So with all this new info about the '13 with styling updates, Ford went to all the trouble and money for ONE model year?

Good point, just like the original '65 which we also know as a 64.5 this anniversary car could run as long over 2 model years.

When you guys say "2014 Mustang" as the redesign, are you referring to 2014MY (which will come out of Spring of '13) or 2014 as in the year it debuts (2015MY)?

The latter, Jimmy. The '15MY will debut in 2014.

So, early next year we'll get the facelifted '13MY hit the dealers.
Early 2013 the '14MY will hit dealers.
April 17th 2014, we'll see the '15MY launched.

still think as they sold the 09 as 45th, the 14 (late '13 availability) will be sold as the 50th...if not their confusing anniversary dates somewhere... it is odd that there hasnt been any spy photos yet, should be soon.

Brads prototype pics show a mustang wagon photo dated 1966, and its definitely wearing 69 sheetmetal. tooling/prototypes must be floating around area 51 or somewhere by now...

This, and only this is the correct answer.

Ah, thanks. That's what I thought the entire time, but people just spouting years without mentioning whether they're talking about model year or actual year confused the hell out of me.

I'am sure Ford has prototype mules running around, but for now only within their proving grounds. Although I'am sure their testing their future power/drivetrains and suspension components using 'frankenstein' 2010 bodies right under our noses right now My guess is that we'll see camouflaged mules of the next 'stang in the next 6 months.

if they wait to call MY2015 the 50th, they'll get alot of odd looks.

I have an 04MY, it's a 40th anny... I'm an accountant, but it doesnt take one to realize that 4+10=14. It may be that they wait until actual year 2014 to realease it?

I don't see why they wouldn't. Mustangs have been released in the preceding spring for the last few years. Not hard to assume that the 2015 Mustang will be out in the spring of 2014. I say Ford should ignore prior conventions and make the 2015 MY a true anniversary model and not just an anniversary "edition"...

I agree...
In 1984, Ford produced a special 20th Anniversary Edition of the Mustang.
In 1999, Ford produced a special 35th Anniversary Edition of the Mustang.
In 2004, Ford produced a special 40th Anniversary Edition of the Mustang.
In 2009, Ford produced a special 45th Anniversary Edition of the Mustang.
just seems like it would be a late '13 availability 2014 model as the 50th...

This is dumber than a trackey thread. Simple math and a dictionary should tell you what year the 50th ANNIVERSARY Mustang will be.

I promised myself I wouldn't get sucked into this again but here goes for all the late bloomers. Forget all you know about past "anniversaries', this isn't the old Ford of a few years ago.

Would Ford spend the money to update a car for one model year?
But....but....but. Stop it! They wouldn't.

What was the first model year of the Mustang?
Now add 50 years.

I think the question is, would it also tell when the 45th was
