I want to hear an H pipe on the 2015

I know, its not how the Coyote was designed to perform since an X pipe is performance in the higher end. But I'm old school, and I would like to hear the note of an H pipe on a modern 5.0. 435HP is more than I'll ever need, so if I drop the coin for a new exhaust, its not to squeeze every ounce of power, but for the sound.

Um...listen to any of the 11-14 exhausts with H-pipes?

It'll sound 99.9% the same, since they both use axleback style exhausts with a mid pipe. A lot of guys run H-pipes, and there are at least a half dozen companies that make H-pipes for the 11-14 GTs - MRT, Heartthrob, etc...

Another Duh! moment in my life.....
Lethal performance has a great comparison video out there. H pipe for me. And it's only something like 2 HP less than an X.

Lol no worries. And I agree with you. On the Coyote, H-pipe sounds better, as it sounds more muscle car. To be honest though, the biggest difference is the mid muffler. I just had my Solo catback installed last night and I LOVE the sound. Instead of an H or X pipe, it has one singular larger muffler (admittedly, it does have an X shaped crossover built into the muffler), full catback and then their J-pipe axlebacks. It has zero drone and a very smooth transition from almost stock quiet (think stock plus GT500 mufflers) to banshee escaping from hell loud at WOT. Whereas other exhausts are kinda on or off, this one is a very smooth volume ****. I love it.

I went with an off road H-pipe for my '14 GT. Sounds much better than an X-pipe (which has a raspy note). I ran an X-pipe in my supercharged '07 GT to maximize power, but the H-pipe still did wonders for my '14 so I wish I'd done it for my '07.

I think I had the O/R H-pipe on my car when you were up here, but the GT500 A/B's went on later, IIRC. Car is wickedly loud with any kind of throttle, but quiet and drone free while cruising along. Deep musclecar tone with the H-pipe - no more X-pipes for me.

And so far the only offerings shown are X pipes. Speaking of pipes, son has a friend that had a 2010 with Pypes axle backs and they sounded great. I'm waiting to see what they offer for the '15. My fingers are crossed in an X hoping for an H!
