Hood Vibration

I have a 2015 GT with just under 3k miles. It does not have the perf pack. First, this car is amazing, but I have two issues with it. First is brake squeal. They squeal extremely loud upon first couple of stops after the car has sat for a few hours and after they heat up (i.e. city driving or stop and go traffic). Ford and dealers won't do anything about it. They just tell me that's how they are. Second is hood vibration. At highway speeds (with any amount of wind) the top layer of steal vibrates slightly...not the entire hood but just the top layer which I believe Ford made too thin. The dealer could not replicate the problem. So, I test drove another one and it did the same thing. Anyone else notice this issue?

Hello metrocmj,

You’re welcome to bring it to a different Ford Dealer and get a second opinion. Also, please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate this for you.

First, check with the dealer for the brake issue, there is a TSB on it. There is a thread on the forum about this, try doing a Search for more information.

Next, my hood does the same thing, but it happens in high wind environments and at 75 to 80 mph (legal speed in SD). I am not to concerned about it, unless it results in damage to the paint from all of the flexing. After 4000+ miles I haven't noticed any problem.

Hi Deysha. I've taken it to two dealers on the brake issue and they both told me that there is nothing they can do except turn the rotors, which at less than 3k miles I'm unwilling to do. I also called Ford Corporate Customer Service and they logged my issue, but didn't offer any solution. I will PM you after this post and provide you all of my info. Thanks for your help!

Here is the TSB..ask Deysha if they can apply it to your vehicle.

TSB:15-0030, dated Mar 10, 2015. If you go to his post you will see a copy of the TSB. I couldn't get it to copy and paste.

Thanks for the PM, metrocmj! I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Please make another appointment with your dealer (let me know which one).

There isn't any"steal" in your hood,it's aluminum alloy,as are the front fenders.
Now that you are aware of the brake tsb you shouldnt have any problems with the dealer.
Good luck.
